Problem

Post by Fierce Deity »

I've just bought a copy of Oblivion GoTY imported from america because i dont want to wait until december for it to come out in europe.

So was able to play it well on my HD tv downstaires, but when I took my ps3 upstaires to my room and connected it all up to my small normal tv its displays Oblivion in black and white, however the ps3 menu is all in nice colour. I've doubled checked the connectors, the menus in colour but the game keeps displaying in black and white, any help?

Don't know much about PS3, but it sounds like it may have taken some settings from the first TV and is still storing them when hooking to the 2nd TV. Is there some sort of system cache that can be cleared?

I remember back when I was living in Germany, there were issues with TVs, VCRs, LDs, ect. Where the US/North America used NTSC, and most of Europe used PAL. The strange thing, is I thought alot of systems were universal now-a-days.

I've played my other games and they are all fine, And Oblivion is still in color on my downstaires TV so I think it must be my TV thats the problem, maybe it has to be a new version of something.

finally someone on here with a PS3 version! okay i've had that same problem except instead of black and white, it wouldn't show up at all.. here's what you can do, if the tv you moved it too has a lower resolution than the original, that can definately affect the color and picture etc. for example, (i'm sure you know this but just in case,) let's say the original is 1080p res, and you move it to a tv with 720p, then you need to set the PS3 to 720 before you can fully play... there are also a lot of settings about color on it (especially if you've updated) if you messed with color specifically for HD and the tv isn't HD, that can also affect color. If your going to move it to a older/ less res tv, reset everything like it was a less res tv. not EVERYTHING! just the picture settings...

hope it helps :D

Sorry if my message is a little hard to understand... i suck at troubleshooting   8) 8) :P

Good Luck!

Cheers for the help, I did have a flick around with the settings earlier, And is everything I need to change all in Display Settings? No other part of the menu I have to change?
