Green Pact Permissible?

Post by Cernunnos »

So I've been trying to appropriately roleplay my Bosmer Druid character, and I understand that due to the Green Pact it would be inappropriate for Bosmer to consume vegetation for religious reasons, to the point they would synthesize alcohol from animal sources.

Is there any lore for exclusions or permissions as far as potions go? I'd assume that drinking a potion of an unclear source would be a potential violation because it may have had vegetable components.

Its not that abiding by the Green Pact means you can't consume any vegetation, but rather you cant for anything sourced from Valenwood. I.e it would be perfectly permissible to eat food or drink potions from elsewhere in the world, like mead from skyrim.
:
Tho that opens up the question, would mead made from honey in Valenwood count as an animal product or from the plants? Tho carnivorous bees also exist irl so...
And I would imagine most potions would be more linked to local resources(as we have seen largely in game) aside from like specialized alchemists or those with the necessary means where exotic doesnt just mean stuff from Oblivion
