Sightless Pit and other one-way dungeons

Post by Aether65 »

Hello, I'm new to the forum here. I'm playing through Skyrim for the zillionth time (love this game), and I came up with a new goal that I'm having trouble reaching. In Skyrim there are some trap dungeons that when you enter, you have to go forward, as the way back is barred or off-limits somehow. A prime example of this is the Sightless Pit. I enter and immediately fall down into a pool of water and cannot exit the way I came. I found this to be a really immersive experience.
I want to go through every dungeon in the game that forces me to go forward like that. However, I can't find a list of such dungeons anywhere. UESP mentions in the Sightless Pit description that is one of these dungeons, but doesn't provide a list of other such dungeons. Can anybody name the other dungeons that have only one exit? Is there a list somewhere? I read a couple dozen descriptions of caves in Skyrim, and Sightless Pit is the only one where this was specifically mentioned. I'm playing on a PS3, so mods and fan-created dungeons are unfortunately out of the question (although the mod community is awesome). Any help would be appreciated.

Other than some quest-related dungeons, Dead Drop Falls (accessible from Fort Dawnguard if you have the DLC) and Kagrenzel (East of Ansilvund, leading to Stony Creek Cave) come to my mind immedeately.

Honestly, since no list exists, you could take up the challenge and make the list yourself.

That'd be rather expansive, but, by godhead would it be a hell of a project that would have more rewards for you than simply having a list of one way dungeons.

You said you've played this game a lot, which means you wouldn't be missing out on much by taking this out of the way approach.

There are a good few dungeons that contain a one-way drop at some point, like Fallowstone Cave. Not quite the same, but you do have to fight your way out.

I will actually make this list after I've found them all. For the sake of efficiency, I'm just crowd sourcing as much of that list as I can. There are like a hundred places in Skyrim with the DLC. That would take an eternity to do by myself, just by running around. I will look into any reply to this list, though. Dead Drop Falls and Kagrenzel are news to me. I'll check them out. Thanks to everyone for the replies!

I'd be happy to help work this. I've got a toddler so it mount not be the fastest in terms of updating, but I can work a particular Hold if that would be any help. Just let me know which Hold.
