best places to leave stuff lying around forever

Post by Loxias »

Here's the deal, when I first played Skyrim I used to leave all my stuff lying around in Breezehome. Then I discovered the joy of containers.

But now, after years of playing Skyrim, I'm just fed up with putting items in containers. I'm fed up with managing my containers, always putting items where they belong, keeping endless lists of stored items...Now I want disorganization, being able to pile stuff up on the floor in a big place, so that I can see what I have in a glance and just enjoy the mess.

The thing is, I don't want to do it in one of my houses, and I don't want to do it in a small / dark / not very interesting place. I was thinking of Tower of Mzark in Blackreach, or maybe Dimhollow crypt.

Do you think I can safely leave stuff lying around forever in these places ? They (supposedly) never respawn.

I'm pretty sure leaving items laying around is what causes save bloat, so you might want to stick with containers.
Big raims, big taims.

Is it very problematic ? If the game can handle dozens of never-disappearing piles of ash, surely it can handle 60 items lying somewhere in Blackreach ? I never had this problem and I don't really understand what does it do ; if it is simply a question of the saves' size, I have a lot of empty space on my disk.

If bloat is not a problem, then you should be fine. I use Windcaller Temple as a house on the majority of my saves, and I haven't had anything disappear.
