Precisely that, and good to know - I kept browsing through some of the topics and thought they were new lore sources and articles presented by writers and the devs or something until I realized it seemed more or less like a role play forum and they are just making things up to fill what's in between the cracks.

I wouldn't trust that subreddit for anything, really. There's a reason it has a parody counterpart that posts at the same rate.

Well I've noticed that most of the regulars there frequently posting things along the lines of "there is no official canon, so anything goes", etc. I mean Role-playing and writing fan-fics can be fun but It would be nice if they would tag and/or label such things in order to differentiate between made-up/opinion/conjecture and Biblical Bethesda truth. However it seems the Mods there (and Kirkbride to an extent) dislike the idea claiming that tags are "limiting" pffft.

That nonsense is pretty much why I don't go there often. They do have some good discussions in there once in a while but it's buried beneath that "no canon" tripe and a thousand discussions on c0da and landfall. I'm being a bit hyperbolic but I do feel like that entire sub is heavily skewed toward that viewpoint and range of topics.

They should really call themselves TESfanfic. They call themselves TESLore yet they believe there is no canon, and think every little bit of nonsense Kirkbride writes is canon, which, as I have pointed out to everyone who believes his stuff is canon, is not canon. Bethesda stated, in 2006, that no out-of-game stuff (specifically Love Letter and the Nu-Mantia Intercept) is canon.

You fellas shall know that the real TES fanfic is not a site; real TES fanfics are made as in-game books in mods that people release. Like ol' good TES III days.
