This is an all-purpose thread for the planning of the upcoming RP subforum group podcast (and, if it is a success, any possible future ones), to be held via Skype. Anyone interested in participating and/or just helping out can share availability, confirm intent to participate, and suggest recording methods, time limits, and potential topics to discuss (although in that regard I'd just recommend that everyone comes to the session prepared with some talking points).

If you want to be part of the roster, then post here and include your availability *to the best of your knowledge* as far as you can up to September 14th at the latest. The 14th because if we're going to set a deadline, it might as well be the day university classes start. If you post with your intent to participate, your schedule will be factored in to decide when we're doing this, and the only way you'll be excluded is if there is somehow not a single time in the next 27 days when you are available at the same time as everyone else. (So don't say 'You guys can do it without me if my schedule doesn't match up,' because that's going to be assumed.) This applies to myself as well, of course. Make sure to include your time zone in some capacity when stating your availability.

I would, but two things prevent me, mainly a lack of general knowledge about the current RP community, and my schedule is very non-linear and changes day-to-day.
I could pop in every now and then if I thought of something to talk about.

Right, so unless I've calculated things wrong, these are the times that appear possible within the upcoming days. I'm not sure when your school starts, Union (I'd have guessed that it's at the same time as mine, but perhaps yours is earlier?), so I don't know if any of these actually work for you. Also, I didn't cross out all of next week just in case Musicman is free of musical-y commitment for one or more of the listed time periods. Let us know if that's the case for any of them, MM, but for the rest of us, consider it written off unless he says otherwise.

So, if we're leaving out next week for now, that seems to leave us with tomorrow and Friday, as well as next Saturday. Of those, next Saturday (the 29th) is the most open, but if no one has any conflicts in the next two days we could possibly set it sometime then as well. If none of these times end up working, my next work schedule comes in on Friday, so we'll only have to wait until then to know for two weeks from now. Any thoughts or schedule corrections?

@VW You don't have to be caught up on everything new to do with the subforum; we'd definitely love some good 'blast from the past' discussion if you wind up being available at the time we decide on.

Best we set a future date so that we can all have more time to better prepare some talking points--or, uh, for my own sake, at least.

Speaking of which, we may as well address some potential/must-do ones. --Current RPs we're involved in; TA2, GWN, Sea Lords, Mass Effect, ASOIAF, and whatnot. RPs in sign up stage; Dragon Age, L5R (plzjoingaiz). Future RP ideas; Avatar, and such and such. And of course, reminiscence of RPs past. World of Darkness, Vault 54, etcetcetc.

...Or we could just improvise and our listeners could be treated to earfuls of umms, ahhs, and errs. Meh.

Molag Bal Game, yes. And I can't wait to play in the next one. Perhaps I won't die quite so quickly.

MM has downloaded a Skype recorder, and I recommend somebody else do so as well, in case something dies or somesuch. --And insofar as pronunciation, I typically think of 'Baloth' as 'Bay-loth'. I couldn't say for certain, as Baloth-Kul is a TES fiction author. Legend of Krately House, and stuff. The rest of your usernames are delightfully straightforward. But all my fellow North American UESPF Skypecasters, remember, Kerr is pronounced like "Care", not "Cur". I still pronounce it as the latter in my head, but...yeah.

So should we set it for Saturday the 29th, then? That looks like our next opportunity, unless one of next Tuesday-Friday is possible. It's a good one too - we could set it at almost any time.

As far as I'm aware, I'm free tuesday, thursday, friday of next week, or monday and wednesday before 5ish. So next week could work for me, yeah.

Midweek would be fine for me as well (available for afternoon-evening stretches Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday - see my availability schedule), so if any of those times are not too busy for Musicman with his musical's performances, we could definitely go then.

Musical performances will be Friday night and Saturday afternoon and evening. Rehearsals will be from 5pm-7:30 every evening (Central Time).

So any weekday afternoon should be fine for me.

With TSO's home-from-work time being 9pm GMT (3pm CT), that leaves us with not very large windows of time, but it's still doable. It rules out Wednesday, as Baloth is unavailable by 5 ET (4 CT), but on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday we definitely have the time. Tuesday we'd have to start a little after 4:30 ET due to my work going until then, and otherwise we just have to account for TSO having dinner after work and (I'm assuming) Musicman's travel/prep time for his rehearsals, which still should give us a good hour or however long we want to go for.

So then, how about Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday?

As somebody totally unrelated to this project, could you not record as and when people are online even if it's for short periods, and then edit together all of the individual recordings, instead of doing it all in one go?
