Tower Birthsign Question.

Post by Daemos Avetorii »

It gives an open Average Lock Greater Power. And a Greater Power to reflect 5% damage. Since the only other known way to get Reflect Damage at the Spell Altar is going to SI and waiting an eternity to complete the required quest to get it there, this may be a convenient shortcut to get it for. Reflect Damage is cheaper in magic cost than for example Spell Absorption. A master of Mysticism could create a Reflect Damage 100 pts for 20 second or something to that end, or a Reflect Damage 50 pts for 60 seconds and reduce damage. But would Mage-Related characters even attempt to "take" damage in the first place? Aside from any Shield Spells cast for protection, or Conjuring armor?

Other options for Birthsigns is the Mage. +50 Magica is nice but kinda boring. Apprentice, but the 100% Weakness to Magicka makes it seem not worth it. And let's not even get started about the Atronach. XD

So, could the Tower stone with it's convenient unlocking of Reflect Damage be worth to use, or should I just go with the Mage Birthsign instead?

Alchemy can give you reflect damage as well, without draining a good chunk of magicka. The Tower's effects are for all intents and purposes useless, and it will take you a while to level up to the point of being able to cast a spell of that magnitude anyway. The Mage and Apprentice provide a tanginle benefit though I always prefer attribute boni birthsigns personally. But if you feel like trying it out, go ahead and tell how it went.

I was considering the Warrior Birthstone possibly for my next "wizard". will use blade with poison on it. So conjure dagger for sneak and conjured claymore for cutting stuff out of sneak.
Skills would be:

~ Alchemy
~ Alteration
~ Blade
~ Conjuration
~ Destruction
~ Mysticism
~ Sneak

And the character will be Altmer.
Kinda hate the idea of avoiding the mages guild (for character roleplay reasons) and considering joining the Fighers Guild for the sole reason of getting Blade training. >_<

Funny. I have the Reflect Damage spell on my main and got it by different means. Though I don't really remember exactly how in the first place... Perhaps it was an armour already imbued with the spell and I broke it in one of the altars in order to learn how to use it or a Sigil Stone.

In any case, hunt for the former or the latter, if you can. Better than waste some precious attributes/skills on a useless Birthsign.

I suggest you use the Atronach Birthsign if you plan to have a powerful spellcaster. Stunted magicka is not bad as it seems. Don't forget to master the art of alchemy.
