Standard Reanimated Dead Don't Count?
http://uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Ebony_Blade_Victims It says that reanimated dead count towards the kill total. However, I found that only reanimated dead that don't turn into ash upon death (using higher level reanimation spells) count. Those lower reanimated dead that turn into ash upon death don't count towards the kill total. I am currently using the Unofficial Skyrim Patch. For people who are playing the vanilla game, do reanimated dead that turn into ash upon death count or not?

Re: Standard Reanimated Dead Don't Count?
Hmmm. Not sure about this one. For the last few builds where I've used it, my go-to way of powering up the Ebony Blade was to give money to the drunk beggar in Markarth and then kill him ten times by raising him with the Ritual Stone. That's clearly an exploit, I know, but it's the fastest way I've found. And it's made even faster by putting the Ritual Stone into the Aetherial Crown so that you don't have to wait 24 hrs each time. I don't imagine that whether or not someone counts towards restoring the blade depends on whether or not they turn to ash. To my knowledge, EVERYONE turns to ash unless they were reanimated with dead thrall, a staff, or the Ritual Stone. I don't think there exists in the game certain enemies that simply will not turn to ash no matter what was used to raise them. Are you trying to kill a friend and then raise and kill them again in order to get credit for a second kill? If so, then whether they collapse as an intact body or as an ash pile should not effect whether or not you get that second kill. It just means that you cannot get a THIRD kill out of that same person because you obviously cannot raise an ash pile. If that's your way of going about this, then you should be able to kill+raise+kill on five different people to get the ten kills you need. But why not just kill the same person ten times using thrall, staff, or RS?
