Distant Land, missing scripts

Post by Sadachbia »

I deleted everything from my Morrowind folder, reinstalled it from Steam, and downloaded new copies of the mods. I ended up copying a few things from my old Data Files (things that aren't available for download anymore, or mods I made myself).

Sadly, I still can't get Morrowind to run; when I hit New Character, it gives me the unhelpful message "Morrowind has stopped working" (just a standard Windows crash error; I prefer when Morrowind itself tells me "cannot find ___ on script XYZ" or something like that).

I also get this error when I try to run the Distant Land generator:

It's not the same error I was getting before, but it's still an error I don't know the meaning of. Hoping someone here can help me sort it out.

If I try running Morrowind and making a character with ONLY the base .esm files loaded (MW, TB, BM), it gives me an error about textures not being found and then crashes. :/

EDIT: Might this be due to the fact I cleaned all my .esm and .esp files with TEStool? I just updated the ones that had GMSTs or other crud, instead of making new files with "Clean" in the name, so that everything would still point where it expected to.
