So I got a new laptop recently, and I want to know whether it is worth trying to play games on it, because I don't want to shell out for a game, and then find my laptop can't run it. So, here it is:

What games, if any, could I play on this? I originally got it just for University work, but it would be nice if I could play games on it.

Re: Got a new laptop.
I can't look up specifics on the APU from my phone, but I think that'll be your biggest issue. Your RAM is solid so no real worries there.
I think it's a safe assumption that you can play most games on acceptable settings. Anything up to 2009 should be fine so long as it's not too taxing (IE Crysis). If you're unsure I'd recommend games that run on the Source engine (Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2 etc), you can't go wrong with Source games as far as performance is concerned. Old games will definitely not be a problem as long as they will run on your OS.

Re: Got a new laptop.
Just started my first game of skyrim on the laptop. I am in the cart at the moment. Looks great, even in medium settings!
Edit: i do need a mouse for it, I think.
