Competition of the Month - Holiday Edition!

[Musicman247]

Welcome one and all to the Competition of the Month!

These monthly competitions are a chance for you to demonstrate your creativity and talents while getting a chance to know your fellow members and have a little fun. Each month is going to have a different theme and a different talent – and maybe a surprise or two! But only one member can wear the purple coins and fancy title of CotM Winner! Do you have what it takes?

The basic rules are as follows:

Spoiler:

» Members can contribute pieces based on the talent (writing, art, screenshots, etc.) and theme during the submission period, after which no further entries will be accepted. Then we will vote via a poll to see who gets to wear that month’s winner’s badge!

» If you are posting artwork, please post a link from an off-forum website such as Photobucket; if you are posting a written piece, please hide it under a spoiler when creating a new post. This is to ensure that posts are not too long and the thread appears orderly for everyone. If you are unsure how to do either of these, don’t be afraid to ask!

» Be respectful and polite about your fellow members’ work. Anyone who says anything rude about another’s work will be hearing from a member of the Mod Squad and may not be allowed to participate in the next competition. There is no such thing as “good” or “bad,” and everyone has a unique way of demonstrating his or her talents. Enjoy the variety!

» All members are welcome to join, including moderators. Don’t forget that we’re members, too!

Happy Holidays!
This time around we are celebrating the end-of-year holidays! Much like the Costume Contest that AKB hosted in October, we want you to show us your best holiday avatar! Wear your entry and post here to enter. We ask that you only post here saying you're entering after you have finalized what your holiday avatar will be. If you have to change it we understand, but definitely no changes once voting has begun. Hope you all have a blast! I'm looking forward to seeing your creative and (hopefully) festive avatars!

Our schedule for the End-Of-Year Holiday event is as follows:
December 9: Competition begins! Start planning and send in those submissions!
Dec 20-24: Voting period – vote for your favorites!
Dec 25: Our winner is announced!
Please note that all times are determined by me, Musicman247, and therefore will run according to GMT -6/Eastern Standard Time. (Click here if you’re unsure when, exactly, that is!)

Remember that the CotM is not possible without you, so please participate, contribute, discuss, and vote!

As an aside, if anyone would like to join the street team to help plan and set up the CotM, please send me a PM or visit my wiki talkpage. Until then, have fun and good luck!

(This fun event is hosted by yours truly. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them within this thread or by sending me a PM by selecting the appropriate button below my signature. Have some suggestions on what you'd like to see? Head over to the ideas thread and join in on the discussion!)

[The SheoDovah]

Is just a costume contest or are stories about Christmas allowed as well?

[Musicman247]

Since it's so short of a contest we wanted to do something simple, so it's only an avatar contest. You can post a story about your avatar if you would like, though!

[The-Shadow-One]

Entering with this!

[Archer]

This is my entry.

On December 9th, 2013, Skyrimplayer scoured yorn Internetz looking for the perfect Christmas avatar. And lo! An idea struck him. Quickly to Google he went, typing in the words, "Ye olde Christmas Stormtroopers".

But alas, he could not find anything. All the good ones were too big, and the rest were not perfect enough. But then, what had he seen, had his eyes deceived him? Lo! He found an image, with a small size. He walked up to the picture, and asked "Lo, stranger. Would thou be obliged to come with I to yon Christmas Pageant?

And he looked at Skyrimplayer with blank expression, yet whispering armor, and said, "If you wouldst have me, I shall come with thou."

Rejoicing, Skyrimplayer hurried to ye olde User Control Panel and typed in the URL. He then went to yon Christmas pageant, full of happiness, his new friend in tow.

So in short, I'm entering with this Stormtrooper avatar.

[Kerr]

Suppose I'll put up my Christmas Avatar early seeing as there is a COTM. Still sticking with my self imposed Vault Boy/Girl only rule. Here is my entry.

Happy Holidays one and all, Santa is here to give presents to all you good little Vault Dwellers.

[Justice knight]

I'll enter with my Christmas Knight! Thank you so much Beta!

[ZeRoc]

Buu gonna make give you candy!

This is my entry. (Hopefully the voters have seen DBZ...)

[BetaB17]

I do believe this may be my entry... that is if I do not change to one of my other's

:

[The SheoDovah]

Here is mine. Weep at my cuteness! Kneel before the cutest dragon the land has ever seen! Cry before me! Oh and vote for me if you want. But mainly bask in the cute power of the dovah! Also Happy Christmas or happy holidays. If you're AKB, please don't enslave us on christmas day.

[Dohva.]

And a Holiday fairy sweeps in to enter the competition!

[Elenath]

I attempted to edit some green into my avatar, to get in the spirit and so forth. It ended up looking like mold. I think I'd have to find a Mandelbrot calculator which gave me red and green contrast. Sounds unlikely.

[HatofMadness]

Bulba?

[OblivionDuruza]

Since I was going to change it anyway, I guess we have to post here to be 'entered' into the comp? For the uninitiated, this was my first forum avatar, minus the Christmas hat, and the one I've used every Christmas on the forums

Bulba?

Mandatory. You're one of the originals! Now convince Nanza!

I think it will be nice to have a competition which doesn't follow the pattern recent ones have, of a dual/multi-faceted image/writing comp with a different monthly flavour/theme)

[Musicman247]

Guess I should enter.

[K Candyman]

I thought I should join...the 135x135 was hard this time many pics became to small luckily I can always count on Kon!:D:D

hope you guys know bleach

[OblivionDuruza]

If you submit your avatar by uploading it to something like Photobucket and then using the "Link off-site" option in the UCP you can get around the 135x135 restriction, as the site will just scale the image down. For example, my current avatar is really 350x325.

[sinister]

Here is my entry. I shall steal Christmas!

AAIGTH!:D:D thx for this tip!

[HatofMadness]

BulbaClaus!

And yes, we must convince Nanza.

I wish Henke was here too

[Aarah]

I have learnt from this thread: if u want to make absolutely anything chrismassy - stick a santa hat on it.

[Alarra]

My Alarra character is dressed for the season. (Thanks to the Saturalia mod made by Musicman and Deandra - first mod I've installed and I'm liking it a lot! )

[Hrolf Alfblod]

Hey, who wouldn't like to have Christmas with the Joker?

[Dirty Spaceman]

mery sexmas from mastur ch33f. (You thought he was gone for good, didn't you?)
