Anybody rooted a tablet before?
I have a Kindle Fire and I'm thinking about rooting it to use some android apps. Has anyone done this before? Aside from the potential pitfall of installing malicious software, are there any pitfalls?(other than that it voids your warranty, of course)

I rooted my original Nook color. No drawbacks whatsoever (except voiding the warranty, but even then you can usually flash back to stock to take it in for repairs). Was able to install all the Android apps I wanted. I was even able to get Honeycomb on it, which was cool at the time.
