Breaking and Entering questions

Post by skyrunner14 »

So I was just wondering how I'm supposed to break into houses so I can get stuff to sell. When I examine a door, it says the lock is no match for me, but whenever I try to open/lockpick it, it either doesn't work or spawns guards. I'm an Argonian Battlemage, does that have anything to do with it? Or do I have to be a Thief to be able to break into a house? Or maybe I'm just unlucky. I also figure it being day or night has something to do with it... can someone help me?

If you look at the wiki entries for the different classes and races of characters, certain ones have a bonus to lockpicking. What level are you at in Agility? That will influence your success rate the most.

My character's agility is 67. How much does that factor into it? And does trying to lockpick at day or night have anything to do with it as well?
