Hello!
Today I have experienced the Error 80 for the first time. Steam prevented Skyrim from launching by giving an error message, the error code being (duh!) 80.
I solved the problem by rebooting my computer, but I am concerned about it happening for the second time.
My search in the Internet gave me to understand that this is quite a common issue with Steam users, regardless of the game they try to start.
I would appreciate it if the users here shared their knowledge of the issue and their experience of tackling it.
P.S. I don't know if there is a thread about this already, so if there is, I would ask the moderators to merge the two threads.

The Error 80 Thread
In between the lines there's a lot of obscurity.
I'm not inclined to resign to maturity.
If it's alright, then you're all wrong.
But why bounce around to the same damn song?
You'd rather run when you can't crawl...

Re: The Error 80 Thread
It has only happened to me a few times, twice on Skyrim and once on Dishonored. In all three cases, restarting my computer (reboot) was all that was needed to fix it. I wouldn't worry too much. Like you said, it happens to everyone sooner or later. And as long as a reboot will fix it, its not that big a problem.
