The break of dawn - please help
The break of dawn - please help
I've gone through this quest completing everything up to taking the dawn breaker off the pedestal. After this point it lifts me into the air, meridia talks for a bit, then I'm given two response options. Regardless of the option I choose (or simply wait) the game drops me to the floor where I promptly die. Any way to complete this quest without the subsequent drop to death?

The drop happens regardless. But it shouldn't kill you. Only thing I can think of is how near you are towards her statue or if you're overencumbered.

Re: The break of dawn - please help
Here's a list of suggestions from the quest page and talk page on the wiki:
* This is often caused by carrying too much weight. Try dropping a few things before taking the sword.
* Walk towards Meridia as soon as she has lifted you into the sky, thereby dropping onto the area at the base of the statue instead of a longer drop further back.
* Crouch, pickpocket, and she starts talking more and puts you back down. Several
* Pressing start and bringing up the menu while falling fixes this.
*PC-- Activate God Mode or Immortal Mode, thus avoiding death from fall damage, and then wait until Meridia teleports you back to her shrine.
I haven't tested any of these (luckily never had this issue myself), but it's worth giving these options a try. Good luck!

Thank you for the help. I enabled god mode and it fixed it.

Re: The break of dawn - please help
My problem with this quest is that when I get lifted into the air, Meridia doesn't talk to me. I've tried walking towards the light, crouching, waiting (both in the game and in real time), but nothing works. I just hang there.
