Dialogue about a Monk and fighting style?

Post by zzar »

I was somewhere doing something and the dialogue was talking about a "Monk of Whispering Cane" or something.

Anyone remember anything about this?

Dark Brotherhood I think. Remember two of the members talking about a Khajiit monk

Yep, that was it!

How crazy is it that there are monks trained in, presumably, kung-fu? I think it was a Khajiit, too.

TES 6 better have Kung Fu Kitties!

It is, and it's a dark brotherhood dead drop. I'm pretty sure.

I am developing a khajiit using unarmed combat. Normal unarmed combat does 10 points for a Khajiit but the claws get 12 additional bonus points of damage on top of that for a total of 22 and then if you take a trip to Riften and get the gloves of the pugilist the fortify unarmed attacks enchantment will give you another 10 points for a total of 32. Not bad for a level one character. With the fists of steel perk those gloves will get you another 4 points because the perk adds the armor rating to the damage so now you are up to 36. The max wiki says is using daedric gauntlets enchanted with fortify unarmed by destroying the gloves of the pugilist and learning the enchantment and also enchanting a ring. With the alchemy/enchanting loop this can become astronomical but ordinarily you can only enchant to 14 your gloves and ring so total they say is 68. Thing is you are stealthy and can sneak attack, run away and sneak attack over and over. Sneak attacks double damage but you can't use back stab or power attacks or assassin's blade or a lot of other neat bonuses. I will also develop archery but I am going melee weapon free for this game. My character is all black female Khajiit They really shouldn't give you the claws bonus if you are wearing gloves as they cover them up. They should have daedric bracers available but in that case they probably shouldn't give you the bonus for fist of steel.

Unless i'm wrong, Khajiit's base unarmed is 12, not 22. Claws isn't a bonus, it's more of an adjustment.

and regarding heavy armor bonuses from Fists of Steel, it only adds the base modifier of the armor to your unarmed strikes. For example, Daedric Gauntlets only add +18 to damage, whether they are (fine) or (legendary)

About Khajiits, you are wrong. It's +12 damage. Argonians get +6 damage. All races do 10 base, with the modifiers added in. So Khajiits do 22, Argonians do 16, everyone else does 10.

um for any unarmed specialist, there's actually a ring that adds 20 pts to your unarmed but i don't know how it stacks with other effects. The ring of the beast from the dawnguard DLC
