Morrowing Map Marker Mod

Hi all,

I want to know if a mod exists, or can be made by myself, that allows one to add custom map markers to the world map? I want to mark caves i've explored ect...

I've searched for hours but can't find an appropriate mod. I figure that I've either missed it or it simply can't be made. If it can be made but hasn't been, will any of you let me know so I can begin to learn how to mod the game?

That's what I was afraid of. I figured if it was possible, then someone would have already made the mod, as it seems very useful. I guess my only option is physically making a map and marking it.
