new patch made new holes in the "quilt" of Oblivio

Post by ace62394 »

hello
i'm wondering if the new patch has made more glitches. for example, before the patch, my game only froze once(only because i duped over 2k daedric swords) and now, every time i play for at least 3 hours, it freezes. is this happening to anyone else?

Well, i noticed when i downloaded the update, it seemed a bit on the laggy side. However once i saved and restarted the system. Things cleared up. A lot of it has to do with oblvions weird cache system. and all the objects and surfaces that load. Of course its different when you first download an expansion. When I downloaded NotN and Shiv Isles at the same time. It was very very laggy. It doesnt help that i played NotN while Shiv Isles where downloading. It took longer, but it got done. And for about 2 hours it was skipping, and voices were blank. Weird things in nature. Untill i Shut off the box. and waited awhile. Just restart the system when ever things get ugly. And if it reoccurs constantly you may have to seek professional tech help.

Since installing the new patch I've found Obl being VERY buggy, especially graphically.

Faces going boltchy, especially during speaking, different coloured patches on ground - in perfect massive squares.

The worst one last night was permanent night-eye!!!! My theory is my many mods may be affected by patch, so I uninstalled everything (all DLC too) and clean-boot reinstalled and patched, then installed all mods last. Gonna defrag then test tonight.

If this doesn't fix the problem then I'll have to repeat above without 1.2 patch.

I'll let you all know how it goes soon... :P

Complete reinstall, still have permanent night-eye. Was being caused by the goggles mod. Even with them removed from inventory have permanent effect listed in current active spells.

Removed the mod from game and still have permament night-eye, though now its not listed in current active spells.

Any ideas any-one. Rather not revert to previous saved game. Any console commands?
