What is your preferred weapon?

I usually carry at least 1 of each type around and change depending on the enemy that I fight, however my favourite is probably the Warhammer. I think the perks for Warhammers that take away armor on the enemies are better than the equivalent on the other weapon types, and I also like the extra damage 8). As for looks I think the Rueful axe is pretty cool defiantly my favoured Battleaxe. Lots of the Greatswords look good I think the Iron is one of the best along with Daedric. IMO not many of the Warhammers are really visually pleasing, I think I like Dwarven the most, it actually looks like its got a solid weight to it and I like the shape.

Also as a bonus question do you play in first or third person? I have traditionally played in first person in all Elder Scrolls games but the fight mechanics and animations in Skyrim have made me change to third, though I do find I miss targets more often though.

I love both Greatsword and Battle Axe, but I voted Greatsword. It is the perfect balance of speed, and damage. Also, I suggest just making a thread for that bonus question.

Speed of the Greatsword is really nice, I like to do a running forward power attack starting before I'm in range of the enemy. It seems very rare that it can be blocked, even better is the sprinting power attack that you get with the perk. Feels like its the same speed for every weapon which is one reason I don't mind too much the slower speed on the Warhamers.

When I do use two handed weapons, I use greatswords. I prefer speed over damage (which is why I usually wind up using one handed weapons), so I like the greatswords the best. Mostly use modded greatswords, though. I especially like the Akaviri Dragonbone Nodachi that I've got.

As for which view I play in, I prefer first. I only play in third person when I'm taking screenshots or looking for screenshot opportunities.

Totally battle-axe, to me the weapon just screams awesome bezerker type weapon. I have only ever made one character who used 2h weapons but the battleaxe was king!

Warhammer... Go big or go home.

Not to mention the longhammer is arguably the best weapon on the game.

Yeah, it is pretty slow. But once you get into dwarven warhammers, one hit kills galore. With heavy armour, you're a walking tank.

I prefer Light Armor to maintain mobility while still hitting hard. Both are good combinations.

Greatswords for me, I just don't like how battle axes and warhammers look when they're sheathed. The handlie stick out waaay to far.

Call me picky, and you'd be right.

You know what i think one of the coolest looking items in skyrim is? The steel greatsword... With some steel plate armor you look like a totally awesome warrior.

I love being a tank. Since the warhammer swings slow, its good to have some protection from the fast blows the enemy throws at you.

Good old Warhammer all the way. I know it's slow but it gets you out of some really sticky situations with one hit kills.

But the bow always trumps if I can get out of close quarters combat.

I like killing the Thalmor with Wuuthrad. It just seems so fulfilling to use that big axe against elves.

My favorite two handed warrior was an Altmer swordmaster and his elven greatsword scored an epic score of kills and beheadings. While not exactly the berserker type that it is usually protrayed by Nords, Orcs and other two handed warriors, my Altmer had a sort of grace in his golden elven armour and shiny sword. I prefer greatswords to the other two weapons and while they do less damage they are faster and thus more responsive to the combat situation. With some practice you can follow a power attack with several fast swings plus the beheading kill cams are simply epic. I have also learned to favour light armour for my two handed warriors, stamina economy is very important for this archetype and light armour allows you to evade many attacks and conserve some stamina in the fight.

Greatsword. In real life terms, a greatsword is borderline overkill. A warhammer? That's just cruel. Plus, swords look the best.

Greatsword, obviously. The other two feels more of tools rather than weapons, but hey that's my view and no offense meant.

I agree, and generally, the Greatswords can get out more damage per second, at least when I use them.

I always use the Battleaxe when i choose a two handed warrior. Mainly because i like to believe that the Nords favor axes. And the killing moves tend to be the most brutal of the two handed ones. I am surprised that my Dragonborn has not got a massive headache from headbutting his enemies to death.
