Who do you think is stronger?
Who do you think is more worthy of accepting the dragonborn into their ranks and who honors that particular dragon born the most

He is, as in generic lore, is the sum of what it means to be a nord, to Tullius he is a reminder of a long dead age, and a forbidden god.

The Stormcloaks would probably honor the Dragonborn more.

Re: Who do you think is stronger?
I can assure you most people will vote based on who they like more not the actual poll question. What the guy above me wrote pretty well sums it up "He is, as in generic lore, the sum of what it means to be a nord".
I'm on my way to Windhelm to join up with the Stormcloaks, Ulfric has the right of it!

Re: Who do you think is stronger?
Well, I think the Stormcloaks would honor the Dovahkiin in a more fitting fashion because, as it's been said a couple of times already, he is the Nord of Nords in their eyes. I'll assume he is a male Nord because there will never be a cannon answer unless the promotional guy counts and that's as close as we'll get.
However, the question isn't about honor, it's about which side is stronger. I'd say the Legion. Keep in mind the entirety of the Imperial forces are NOT present in Skyrim. The Stormcloaks should not be taken lightly, but there aren't enough troops in the rebel army to topple the Empire entirely (Perhaps break Skyrim away but that's another poll). Now, if the Dragonborn were to join the Legion at large as the head of the Imperial army (Something of a figure head/rallying force), that'd be a much more dangerous thing than the Dragonborn at the head of a rebellion a fraction of that size.
The Legion's better prepared, better equipped and more numerous than the Stormcloak Rebellion--add the Dragonborn to that and look out! He comes... well, Talos.

Re: Who do you think is stronger?
Although I don't necessarily agree with Ulfric's approach to outsiders and killing High King Torygg, I believe that the Stormcloaks as a whole are stronger and have more motivation to fight. The Empire really has no business branding Ulfric a criminal for beating Torygg in a duel. Regardless of his use of the Voice Ulfric still beat the High King and should therefore be allowed to have the moot to decide the new High King. Also the Empire is basically a Thalmor puppet and by extension since Elisif is an Imperial puppet, so is she.

Re: Who do you think is stronger?
see the thing about the legion is that once the civil war questline is over they treat u like crap and the stormcloaks are better motivated, honestly the empire lost my support with titus mede the second, those thalmor shouldn't be allowed to dictate how i live.

I don't care for either side in this battle. I have a really hard time picking on my current playthrough where I'm making the decisions I'd make rather than those of a character. The whole Stormcloak VS Empire thing REALLY is a choice of the lesser evil. Puppets of the Thalmor who persecute for religion or generally racist xenophobes who treat other sentient beings terribly.

Obviously the Legion. The Stormcloaks are just pointless, fascist rebels. The Stormcloaks aren't "true Nords", they just like to dress up in pretty dresses and play tea party with the Thalmor. Never take the Stormcloaks seriously. Please.

In terms of military might the legion. In terms of who would respect the dovahkin more probably the stormcloaks. who is more worthy overall probably empire. They just need to take their cajones back from the elves.

Re: Who do you think is stronger?
I don't really see how you would decide who would honor the Dovahkiin more because each players Dovahkiin is different. The generic Nord character used in the advertisements would probably get a lot of love from the Stormcloaks, but what if you play as an Altmer mage or a Bosmer thief? I doubt the Stormcloaks would welcome people like that into their ranks, whereas the Legion would welcome almost anyone.

Re: Who do you think is stronger?
I accidentally voted Stormcloaks. Meant to vote the Imperials =P. On the other hand though, Stormcloaks have the kind of passion and motivation that makes them a force to be reckoned with.
As for who would honor the Dragonborn more... well, it's nord traditions (judging by the way they commented about it in Whiterun, when the non-nords were all like "what the heck is a Dragonborn?") so I would say Stormcloaks ESPECIALLY if the Dragonborn is a nord. However, if the Dragonborn is an altmer mage or dunmer assassin or something, I doubt they would be that happy about it but then again they still understand what the coming of a Dragonborn means. Imperial Legion instead would welcome almost anyone but I doubt they actually understand the meaning that well.

Imperials don't accept Talos as a god. The Stormcloaks do. That alone shows who would honor him more...
As for who is stronger, I guess the Imperials are since they have the upper hand before you pick a side (they control more of Skyrim).

Ever hear of Afghanistan? No matter how well-trained your troops are, and how advanced your military technology is, you simply can't wipe out an idea and a system of values. Prohibition, no matter how strenuously applied, has never made anything go away.11Justin93 wrote:The Legion is stronger because they have me. Joking aside, the Legion has to be stronger. Re: Who do you think is stronger?
You are asking 2 different questions
Who is stronger? Imperial Legion, by far.
Who supports the Dragonborn more? Stormcloaks.
Whose side am I on? Stormcloaks.

Re: Who do you think is stronger?
While I couldn't vote in this poll, I have plenty to say. The Imperial Legion, as a whole, is probably stronger than the Stormcloaks. If we're strictly talking about the portion of the Imperial Legion stationed in Skyrim, I'd say they break even with the Stormcloaks.
As for which side is more worthy of the Dragonborn's assistance, I'd say both or neither. I recently began a new game, starting from the very beginning rather than using a save made right before we go to the character creation screen. Afterward, I decided I would never use the save again, because it detracts from the full emotional impact of that ordeal with the Imperial Legion. Your character was merely trying to travel between countries when it was decided that they would be executed for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. The people in the cart with you are to be executed without trial. If they're truly guilty of something that warrants execution, what is the harm in giving them a trial? Worse still, during your escape through Helgen Keep your character must pass through a torture chamber. If you went through the keep with Hadvar, he'll make some remark about how he wishes that such places weren't necessary.
Necessary, folks. Even the "nice guy" of the Imperial Legion believes that torture has a valid place in a civilized society.
The Stormcloaks are not without their own problems. Their racial prejudice is a big one, but people are quick to forget that the Imperial Empire has a history of feeling entitled to control over the land of other races. The most recent example was their decision to the throw the Redguard under the bus by giving a huge chunk of Hammerfell to the Thalmor as a peace offering. If that crap isn't racist, I don't know what is.
In regards to which side would honor the Dragonborn most, it's the Stormcloaks without question. I don't think that automatically makes them more worthy of the Dragonborn's support though.

Re: Who do you think is stronger?
I'm pretty sure the Imperials revere the Dragonborn as much as anyone, considering all the Emperors used to be Dragonborn and the Dragonborn was the symbol of a unified Tamriel.ScorpionGT1 wrote:Yes they do, they're just banned from worshiping him by the Thalmor. Also, the original Legions were largely comprised of Nords who assisted Talos Stormcrown. There's a strong Imperial connection to the Dragonborn.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

Tullius said it himself. "You started this war - plunged Skyrim into chaos." The Legion was just there to keep the peace up until that point. That would be like the U.S. army standing around and doing nothing when someone murders a foreign ambassador, which is basically what the High King of Skyrim is - he's the link between Skyrim and the Empire.
Also, at least one Imperial general left a shadow legion behind in Hammerfell to help them fight the Dominion. I'd say the Empire is one of the most cosmopolitan and respectful cultures in all of Tamriel. Cyrodill is a melting pot after all, and Imperials have a lot of Nord blood. If anything the Stormcloaks come across as xenophobic in this game, whereas the Imperials are trying to restore peace and order.

Both Solitude and Winterhold show downsides of the supporters of each faction.
Winterhold: It seems some of the supporters of Ulfric are terrible racists.
Solitude: They friggin cut a dudes head off for doing his job, opening/closing gates, people are cheering too while this goes on!

I think you're downplaying his role quite a bit. he let Ulfric out of the city after he killed the High King and he did it knowing what Ulfric had just done.
