Prophecy: Sampson the Evil

Post by Redshift »

BACKSTORY
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The landmass of Tamriel is crumbling. Uriel Septim has been assassinated and a cruel tyrant has taken his position as emperor. He is known by nobles as "Sampson the Great", but is known by commoners and paupers as "Sampson the Evil". He captures female paupers and uses them for 'personal entertainment'. But where are their husbands? They toil in the mines, under fed, under nourished. Commoner males are sent to the barracks to expand the emperors facist regime. Commoner females are used as ill-respected maids and do the tyrant's bidding. And the children? The children are sold to nobles as slaves and are abused-for recreation. He feeds the rich and tramples the others. He has taken Cyrodiil and Hammerfell, he must not expand further. The factions of the remaining provinces are angered. His terror must end before all of Tamriel is wrought in slavery and poverty. The factions have covertly united against the Tyrant, and have formed a group of thier finest members on a quest to end the sorrow. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________1.Combat:
Spoiler:
This is a team-based roleplay. That is no missions will ever be done alone. You will be grouped based on quest type, player levels, and quest difficulty. E.G an easy quest involving robbery will include two players whereas a harder quest may include five. Read more about missions in the next tag. The outcomes of quests and it's participants is dependent on player levels, stats, teamplay, whether the player is afflicted with a disease or is blessed. E.G If a player is afflicted with a disease that drains strength, the player will deal less damage. Read more about diseases and gameplay in the diseases and conditions tag. Occasionally an NPC will join a quest and your relationship and disposition (if any) with this character will affect the outcome of battles. Read the NPC tag for more details.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________
2.Missions:
Spoiler:
Because all the factions have converged, they have become one big organization. This organization is called The Nexus. There is one leader of The Nexus, An Altmer by the Name of Norilar, played by me as with all NPC's. There are also sub-leaders; which are leaders of each faction, and the original Guild Leaders, forming a web (Nexus means Network-No Mephala reference intended) The Guild Leaders give quests that concern the people of the province, e.g avenging a murder. They can be found in all provinces except Cyrodiil and Hammerfell, or other provinces that have been captured. Sub-Leaders give quests that cripple Sampson's forces. This may include eradicating a family of nobles that fund Sampson. Sub-Leaders are found in caverns in all provinces. Norilar gives quests that affect Sampson directly. This may include burning a supply of food to Cyrodiil/captured Provinces. Norilar is located in the Vacant Tower in Dagon Fel, Morrowind.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________
3. Diseases & Conditions:
Spoiler:
Diseases can dramatically affect relationships with NPC's and possibly other players. You will be informed when you contract a disease and your disposition with other NPC's will decrease, normal procedure as with all Elder Scrolls games. Contracted Porphyric Hemophilia or become a werewolf? Don't worry! The Nexus only sees you as an asset. However should you continue to become a vampire, you will be grouped with other vampires and these will be you new team-mates. Nothing will happen should you become a werewolf, because being a werewolf is not permanent, as vampirism is. If a town witnesses you transforming, the occupants of towns, villages etc. will attack you on sight, regardless of Previous dispositions with NPC's. If you are seen transforming with your team, your whole team will be attacked. If you have broken a limb, you and your team will not participate in quests until you recover-healing spells/potions will aid the process. Depending on the seriousness of the wound, recovery time will vary. A deep cut will heal instantly with a healing spell/potion, whereas a broken limb may take 2 weeks with the same spell/potion, also depending on potion/spell strength and the caster should it be a spell.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________
4. NPC's & Players
Spoiler:
First of all, it is possible to have relationships with NPC's or other players. This could range from physical to emotional. Although Faunication is permitted, DO NOT GO INTO DETAIL. YOUR CHARACTER WILL BE REMOVED. Most people will not want to read about your fantasies. If you have a relationship with another player, again do not go into detail. Having said that, if you faunicate an NPC/Player you have a chance of Impregnating them/becoming pregnant. Because there is no such thing as abortion, you will be forced to bear a child. What you do with the child is up to you. While pregnant that member of the team and the father of the child will not participate in quests until the child is born. If you keep the child, you can choose to let someone care care of it while you are gone OR you can take it along, though it is not advised. Your other option is to become an idle member-i will make a different thread for that.Your disposition and relations to NPC's or players will affect the outcomes of quests and it's proceedings. E.G if you have a character on you team in which you have an emotional relationship with, you might break a limb saving him/her, upon the other character's request and/or situation. If a character you have a relationship with is about to be stabbed, you may take the blow yourself or defend or whatever, i don't really care  .

Interesting backstory! (Although I don't see how a 25 year-old man could've adventured with both the Dragonborn and the Neveraine, as there is more than 200 years separating the two) A few questions though. Would the players who sign up control these characters that you made, or would they make their own? How would combat work? And is this more free-form or story driven? Like, will people be able to do what they want, or will they be following a set story?

In a dark cavern located in Sadrith Mora, Heather, Thorarin and Eava stand in front of Hulesein. "I'm sure you'll want to know why you've been sent here?"
"Bloody well right i would! I traveled from High Rock expecting an extravagant manor! What do i find? A Bloody cave!" Yelled Thorarin. Nearly dropping his helmet. There was a glint in the Altmer's eyes.
"Relax Thorarin, all your questions shall be answered."
"How do you know my name!?" Yelled Thorarin
"I know all your names
"Could you hurry this up, because I'm an impatient women." Said Heather, bouncing on her feet.
"As you well know the empire of Tamriel is falling," He started "We are the Nexus- a group of mercenaries who dedicated to the liberation of Tamriel"
"So why exactly are we here and how do you know us?"
"The Nexus is a unification of the faction of Tamriel formed after the Appointment of Tyrant Sampson. And you are our newest members."
"I don't want to fight with a group." Demanded Thorarin "I fight alone."
"As long as you're in a faction-you serve us. We're just putting you people together. Why? Because your the best of the best."
"So no matter what we do, we belong to the Nexus?" Said Eava
"Yes." There was an eerie silence in the room, the only sound coming from the dying torches.
"I am Aramayon Hulesein, the founder of the Nexus. Your orders come from me and Guildmasters alike. Your orders now? Get some sleep. there are beds down the left of the cavern." The members filed out the room but something strange happened. The door was opened slightly before closing shut." But it was late and Armayon disregarded it. He rose from his chair. He looked up to see a man donned in Chitin. The man dashed at Armayon but no blow came. Instead the man was struggling to continue his attack. The man screamed in agony as a stream of blood poured out of him. The member returned to the room, astonished at the sight. The man fell to the ground in a dam of blood. And before their very eyes the build of a cloaked man appeared. He sheathed his Daedric Wakizashi and said.
"So, I hear you're out to topple an empire." and he lowered his hood.

Damn I knew i should have looked that up. Now it makes no sense (Fixed). Yes the story is free-form but there is also a structure, that is players are allowed to wander but but not off the point of the main story. Players control the characters provided but are permitted to introduce tertiary characters, so long it doesn't stuff up the storyline i have planned (which T will be monitoring). I have an interesting twist planned late in the main storyline :D. Combat is dependent on the character. e.g Alan was trained how to evade by his mother-in other words his combat is very finessed. Thorarin is strong but not that intelligent so his combat is the use of brute force etc. (By the way i won't be able to manage the roleplay for this week, i have exams. Possibly longer because I'll be on holiday. Seeing as you know what's going on- couldd you help me with that? Much appreciated. Oh and thanks, i do this sort of thing for fun :P

Everyone in attedance stared in astonishment at the unhooded man. "So, this is the famously imfamous Angelo Necro.""In the flesh"
"What brings you here?." The assasin steps forward towards Hulesein, the new members all step forward in defense of Hulesein. The assassin grinned "If I came here to kill him he would already be dead, and I wouldn't have saved his life."
The recruits relaxed their guard. "You haven't answered my question assassin."

"Why am I here? Why are you here? Why are they here? My guild fights for the same cause as yours, yet you disregard us."
"You're here to join us consentually?" Said Eava
"Yes, is that a problem?"
"Assassin Scum! You fight with disrespect! Slaying innocent lives." Shouted Thorarin
"Mind you I serve the Moag Tong. I slay the unjust and promote the poor."
"So this whole thing was some sort trust act?"
"I despise the Tyrant as much as you do. He killed my mother."
"So you wish for revenge?" Said Heather
"I wish for justice upon all others. It is a part of my life code. Even if you don't hire me I will help you."
"Then get some sleep. You've got a long day ahead of you." said Hulesein
