Interior Problems

Post by AeraDunmerMoon »

So, over the past couple of weeks, I've noticed a problem with interiors loading, or rather, with them loading in one piece. It started out that I'd walk into the Blue Palace everything past the first archway would be a distance away from where it should be, or the archway itself would be missing. Reload a save, problem fixed. Or so I thought. Doing Vaermina's quest in the tower, and the first time I enter, all I see is a kind of sky with no land in view and some hovering clutter. Go out, reload save, go back in. I think the problem is fixed until further along, when I notice that there are white textures under archways, and that the cell that should be connected to this door or other is only reachable by tcl because if I try to walk to it normally, I fall into the abyss. tcl my way through that dungeon, investigate, remove some heavier mods and lower graphics settings. Once again, delude myself into thinking this is fixed. Only it happens again in other interiors, more often now. Missing floors, missing walls, falling clutter, this part of the cell being across the sky-void when it should be over here, that sort of thing. It's getting a bit ridiculous, and while I have searched for similar cases online, they've all had fixes that are not applicable to me (remove this or that mod, that sort of thing.)

Any ideas?

I had similar issues on my first character after a couple of hundred hours of gameplay. (XBox, no updates/patches.) I chalked it up to the bloated savegame file size issue and started a new character.

Well...hmmm...there's an idea to follow...I already am on a relatively new character though (<30 hrs), and I'm set to auto update on steam...
