Can't tell if OOO is running or not.

Post by Caps1905 »

Hello!
I installed Oblivion plus a pack of mods (including OOO) last summer. I played the game for about 14-15 levels then and i abandoned it untill now. At that moment, i couldn't say if OOO was running or not, since i was low level, had a fairly well built character and it was the first time i played Oblivion with mods.
As i resumed playing the game not long ago, i was struck to see that once i reached level 17-18 the contents of dungeons (enemies and loot) were scaling along with my level. Now i'm not so sure OOO was running.
There is an OOO folder in Oblivion/Data/Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul, but the BOSS log doesn't show it along the running mods.
If anyone could help me in the following matters i would be forever grateful:
1. Help me clarify if OOO is running or not.
2. If it isn't already running, guide me a little on what to do next in order to activate it. I'm quite fond of my little Vampire Mage and i'd like to avoid repeating 23 quests.

Here's my BOSS log:

LATER EDIT : i overcame my lazyness eventually, did some reading and installed OOO properly. Also, seeing how much i've missed, i decided to start from scratch, in this new, tough, dangerous world.

I think that you have solved it yourself seeing the "Later Edit" but just to be certain, it should be fairly obvious if OOO is working. Since OOO adds many tougher opponents the easy answer is to go into a certain cave on Imperial Isle, and see if there are Amazons in it, that should be enough to tell you whether or not it's working. If at level one you are running into tougher opponents than goblins, rats and mudcrabs, OOO is probably working. (When I tried it out I learned quickly how much tougher OOO is because I ran into a gargoyle and was promptly killed by it.)

Being the first time i play Oblivion with OOO, i couldn't tell at the moment i made the first post.
After having it properly installed now, the differences are obvious, from the overall game difficulty, new items, GUI items and so on.
I'm really glad i figured it out, this mod really enhances gameplay. It's much more similar to Morrowind now

Easy enough to tell. Whatever town you're in, just check the main gates for an "Imperial Warning Notice" detailing new threats in the town's local region of the wilderness. These notices are added by OOO, so if they're present, OOO is installed and running.
