Hidden Shout audios for Paarthurnax and Alduin

Post by boltonbrowne »

In the CK, there are some hidden files which are recordings of Paarthurnax, Alduin and a Generic Dragon executing the following shouts:

Fus Ro Dah
Iiz Slen Nus
Zun Haal Viik
Yol Toor Shul
Faas Ru Maar

The recordings for these shouts are just....beyond epic. "Mythic" would be an understatement at best.

You know when you shout, "Fus Ro Dah" and there is a thunderclap with that last word? Well, no thunderclap here...you get an EFFING EARTHQUAKE. Plus the dragons are actually SHOUTING with a LOUD VOICE, quite unlike some of the little, weak shouts Bethesda gave players.

If ONLY they had recorded all 20 shouts with dragon voices...the game would be so much more epic. In hearing the dragons shout their "Dovahzaan", you get the feeling that THIS is what The Voice should sound like.

By the way, the video on YouTube, "Play as a Dragon in Skyrim", The shouts on that video are NOTHING LIKE the ones found in the CK here. Hear for yourself.

Ladies and Gentlemen, all of the shouts that you have shouted thus far from Nov 11, now officialy sound like Justin Bieber. When you're ready to hear some Sir Williard White instead...

Find this file...and others like it. :Twisted Evil:

VOCShoutDragonAlduin01BRoDah

USE THE VOICE THE WAY IT WAS MEANT TO BE USED!

FUS.... RO DAH!! *earthquake*

My guess is that they put those in just in case someone wanted to make a "More Dangerous Dragons" mod.

And yet the Dragons should have been more dangerous in the first place.

After being slaughtered by unexpected dragons of a higher level than me dozens of times, I resent this accusation! If anything, they just need to make sure you fight the right level of dragon. At level 40, Dragons are a cinch, as are blood dragons. Frost dragons seem to be rare, but are manageable. Elder dragons seem more common, and they provide a definite challenge... In they kill me perhaps one in four times. Against Ancient dragons, though... *shudder*
Being incinerated by a single jet of flame doesn't exude a sense of ease, nor does the demoralizing image of a tiny sliver of health disappearing as an arrow hits the target.

Can someone take those files and make a simple video of them on YouTube or something? I can't navigate the CK for the life of me. x)

Sure...I can try

Those files are, however, in a different format and cannot be located just by going into the Skyrim Folder. I'm not sure how to extract them myself.

But yes, I plan to put some of them in place of the regular "human" shouts, just becase they have so much more power.

But the "human shout files" are divided between the dovahkiin and the others?
So using the dragon's ones won't make the Greybeards shouting too like a dragon? And what about draug deathlord?

Uhh...well no.

Draugr have their own shout audios. I think the Draugr shouts are fine as they are.

The Paarthurnax shouts are good on a middle-aged/old Nord, Imperial, Breton or Redguard male.

The Generic Dragon shouts are good on the above as well, but including Argonians.

The Alduin Shouts are very good on a young/middle-aged Orc.

As for the greybeards, I suspect theyre audio files are one-offs, as the only time they shout is when teaching you at H.Hrothgar. "Wuld Na Kest" "Fiik Lo Sah" "Lok Vah Koor"

Evidently you haven't fought a high level dragon on the highest difficulty.

Any dragon on any difficulty should be the strongest enemy possible to face, though. You should never see one taken down by a mammoth or bandit chief, but I have.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

This is true. It doesn't make sense that my thralled vampire can kill a dragon all by herself. Ancient Dragons are kind of a pain though, if they buffed those I would just end up dragon rending ancient dragons and running the hell away.

I was hoping for dragons to be epic boss battles, but some of them are nuisances that are dead by the first time they land. The higher level dragons are tough, but overall every dragon should be tougher and smarter. Emphasis on smarter.
And (when it works) dragonrend makes them way too easy. But, like I said, high level dragons are very hard but they should be smarter and more unpredictable.

You do realize that dragons aren't truly unscripted, right?
They have certain set areas where they can land, and have certain AI. They're not just one random super computer nightmare.

As most dragons are random encounters, no, I don't want them all to be tougher. I want to decide, when I am ready and willing to take a hard fight. So, I could accept that dragons guarding the word walls could be tougher than random encounters, but elder and ancient dragons are IMO just hard enough, if you haven't overpowered your character.

The main attack of dragons is their breath, and the fact that they like to stay in the air outside of your melee attacks. If you have fortified your magic/frost/fire resistance high, they have no weapons against you when flying - if you have not, they will be tough enemies. When landed, they (higher level) have quite hard bite, but many times they still prefer breathing.

So, if you want, you can make them helpless by making you (almost) immune to their breath, and fortifying your armor + weapons (melee and bow) so high that the fight will not take long.
i-m-so-ghett0 wrote:And (when it works) dragonrend makes them way too easy.
So don't use it? Dragonrend(*) really makes dragons much easier, which is nice, if you are alone in wilderness and meet a high level dragon. Of course, you can still try to drop it on the land with your bow and maybe ranged-attack summonings.

(*) It has always worked for me. You do know, that dragons can't land in every place, that is, Dragonrend does not drop it from the sky immediately, but the dragon takes a round in the air and heads to nearest "landing site" :)

Fantastic to hear how many people want to find out about these hidden shouts.

The process of actually getting them is a Friggin' nightmare from Vaermina.

They are .fuz files, which for the life of me, I can't figure out how to read. But here's the rub...if you can even extract them (Believe me I've tried with a special .fuz extractor), then they become .xma files. Then, you gotta extract them AGAIN to get at the .wav files.

AND THEN...you gotta turn those into MP3's.

.....and-then-I-gotta-make-a-YouTube-Video-for-you-Sycophants.

If anyone could give me a Detailed, Concise, point-by-point walkthrough on how to actually get the files from .fuz to .MP3, I'd be grateful...and so would all the other guys wanting to hear these Mega-Shouts.

I only managed to gather these bits of information of how to get these files from people who actually had succeded in extracting all the way. (Modders whose only language is Jargon).

U Mad bro?

Best damn shouts this side of Sovngarde.

Too bad your "Yol Toor Shul" sounds like "Yole...tschule", and can barely toast bread.

Well I just think the fact that it's said so clearly is so... Unrealistic. And it's not much of an "earthquake" as you described it.

Lore states that they use magic to articulate without lips. They also use magic to fly. So, no, not unrealistic.
