The Khajiit "beast" race
So I was wondering, since the Khajiit very in appearance between moons, would they still be considered as a beast race during the early moons, as seen in Arena, where they only have face paint on and no mane?

Re: The Khajiit "beast" race
That's a good question. I'm not exactly sure, because the races hadn't been classified into the "human "races," "elf races," and "beast races" back then. However, if the original human-like khajiit from arena were to suddenly appear in Skyrim, or the next Elder Scrolls game, I'm sure that they would still be referred to as a beast race.

Different race.FrostMage79x wrote:So I was wondering, since the Khajiit very in appearance between moons, would they still be considered as a beast race during the early moons, as seen in Arena, where they only have face paint on and no mane?
Ohmes
Similar in many ways to the Bosmer, although generally of lesser stature. In order to avoid being mistaken as one of the Bosmer many Ohmes tattoo their faces to resemble a feline-aspect. The Ohmes is the most common form seen outside of the province of Elsweyr, taking advantage of other races' preference to their appearance to serve in positions of ambassadorship and trade. It is possible that the Ohmes are the breed seen across Tamriel at the end of the fourth century of the Third Era.

Those are the sub-races they go through during different moons. Still not the answer I'm looking for.POMC S117 wrote:Different race.FrostMage79x wrote:So I was wondering, since the Khajiit very in appearance between moons, would they still be considered as a beast race during the early moons, as seen in Arena, where they only have face paint on and no mane?

Re: The Khajiit "beast" race
They still are a beast race, considering that their anatomy and internal organs are likely quite similar, as opposed to their appearance. The Ohmes have no fur, yet they are still feline.

Re: The Khajiit "beast" race
All the Khajiit are the same essential species, and can all interbreed with one another, but presumably no other race. The Real Barenziah contradicts this but it's the only piece of lore we have that does, on shaky grounds.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.
