Favorite Houses
So, what is everyone's favorite house in the game?
I've personally only seen a Breezehome and Proudspire out of the "buyable" houses. Breezehome seemed to be majorly glitchy, and Proudspire had the weirdest lighting I've ever seen in the game, it almost hurt my eyes.
I recently acquired the Arch-Mage Chambers in the College of Winterhold, which I absolutely love...except for the absence of bookshelves. >_>

Honeyside is pretty cool, if you like Riften that is.

Re: Favorite Houses
the windhelm house is the best in my opinion. It is a huge house, and when fully upgraded it is awesome. 3 mannequins and like 10 freaking weapon plaques. making me look like some war god. However, the house can be buggy, and usually the weapon plaques will not work, and the shield thing that holds the iron shield and the two sword doesn't hold anything either.
But as soon as they fix it the house will be the most awesomest.

Re: Favorite Houses
I have that Windhelm house but there's a bug, or just an annoying oversight from the programmers.

I like the Markarth home... very nice... very high up everything is in a nice room and the fireplaces look nice. I would like to see Proudspire Manor but the interior reminds me of the Embassy... and Ive heard Hjerim has... issues.
Honeyside is nice with a nice porch leading out of the city limits from within the city (well the house itself)

How did you not see the option "Clean up the murderer's mess" when you were buying the alchemy lab?Mrs T wrote:I have that Windhelm house but there's a bug, or just an annoying oversight from the programmers.

i think if you do not click the "clean up mess" option first it does not work. The first thing i did was that option, but ive heard people say they clicked it and it did not work and im thinking that may be why. only a theory though

Breezehome, purely because I love Whiterun and it's perfect map-wise

Re: Favorite Houses
none of the houses in the game do i really enjoy
all of them have at least one thing i dislike...
like the lack of an extra chest in the bedroom... or the lack or a chest in the alchemy/ enchanting lab room
never enough weapon racks (the ones to put staffs on)
i hope they release a "fighters stronghold" type DLC... cause i will buy the crap out of it

Re: Favorite Houses
I actually didn't notice that. I just assumed they had enough sense not to sell me a messed up house.Narzul wrote:How did you not see the option "Clean up the murderer's mess" when you were buying the alchemy lab?Mrs T wrote:I have that Windhelm house but there's a bug, or just an annoying oversight from the programmers.

Yes, you need to buy the "Clean up mess" before you buy the alchemy lab.Mrs T wrote:I actually didn't notice that. Re: Favorite Houses
I like Honeyside simply because of its proximity to the city's vendors, and the fact that it has both an alchemy lab and an arcane enchanter.
Signatures are overrated.

Re: Favorite Houses
While it isn't considered an owned house by the game (you can't move into it with your wife/husband, for example), I do love the abandoned house. It's free, comes fully furnished, AND has a daedric shrine in the basement!
Among the ownable houses I like the one in Windhelm the most. A hidden room filled with bones is perfect for my Necromancer character! Plus the house is pretty roomy.

I love the Hall if Attainment dorm. I love the concealed liquor. And the accessibility.
