So, you've played Skyrim for at least one day. Not only is this impressive (it's only been out 3 days), but it also means that you know enough of Skyrim to have that feeling of it being a new game wear off. How well does it still stand?
Me? I'm dying to get back into it. 24 hours doesn't feel like enough. Skyrim is possibly the best Elder Scrolls I've played - and certainly the best RPG I've played all year.

Re: 24 Hours in
24 hours in, but I can come to a conclusion on how it strikes me.
It's a good game, definitely some changes that were much needed were introduced. When it comes down to it, I still see the love and care Bethesda tries to put in their games. The landscape is indeed awesome. Dungeons don't strike me as copy-and-paste, which is nice. I kinda wanted to discover secrets in the way Morrowind had them (Levitate up to a platform you just noticed), over time though I forgot about them in Morrowind and never bothered with them; so it's probably for the best. I still have yet to determine if exploration is still rewarded. Like, if I go to the edge of the map, will I discover something unrelated to the MQ, but yields something awesome, or just a great place to discover? I don't know yet.
I'd say it's better then Oblivion, and sorta on par with Morrowind. Skyrim lacks two things with me that kinda winds down my opinion by a small margin.
1. No customization in spells and additional enchantments on an item: Why can't we create our own spells that let's us further customize our playing style and/or clear desire for OP spells? Along with this I noticed I can't add more then one spell effect to an item, which left me confused. It impacts nothing, really. So it struck me as a pointless choice.
2. No difficulty slider: They adapted the Fallout 3 form of difficulty, with four level difficulties. This made it hard for me to tweak the game to be the challenge I deem as perfect. They don't hit too hard too soft. I can't let my guard down, but I won't be frustrated all the time. I turned it to expert (Highest being master) and proceeded to get my face rocked. Now, I was thinking how much I'd like to slide it from that difficulty down a tad and I'd have my ideal difficulty.
I think they should just reintroduce the difficulty bar and allow more than one item enchantment, and introduce a spell table.
Aside from that, I do love the game! I'll certainly spend a lot of time on it. = )
My estimation so far.

Well, maybe they didn't want people to make an item to kill everybody in one hit, which would make the game less boring later on when you're a master at everything. I agree with the difficulty slider, though.

Hey FireAcolyte, just so you know, there's an enchanting perk, I believe, that lets you add two effects to an item.
Anyway, almost exactly 24 hours in, and I can barely leave it alone. I need more, more, more! And I'm only level 18, so... yah.

The 100 enchanting skill perk is the ability to put two enchants on one item.I noticed I can't add more then one spell effect to an item
I prefer not having a difficulty slider. Personally I felt the slider gave too much customisation. In Skyrim, the difficulty varies a lot: one dungeon may be super hard for your level, another may be really easy. I think a slider would cause a lot of people to minutely adjust the difficulty whenever they entered a new area - but the game has been designed so that the difficulty will naturally vary.

Too much customization? Well, I can see how a game can offer too much in how your character can look, however nothing comes in just four shades of color. Each color has it's own spectrum to which you can tune it to your liking.
Four cut and dry difficulties can be beneficial, but turning it up one can be overwhelming. There sort of isn't a middle ground in how you can tune your challenge. And for that, it suffers a small bit. If you want a mix of two difficulties, leaning to one side or the other, or perhaps in the middle; it should be your free choice to do so.
