like the title sayes. im interested in knowing what the forum users play, and their tactics.
Personaly I like to play stealth chars. Long range marksman and close combat shortblade.
I have actualy been considering going with a unarmored lately altho i do not know how effective that actualy is for an actual defence. I usualy play useing Light armor.

I chose combat. I like hammers. You end up having to get sunder so you might as well train for it. Before that I make sure I acquire skull crusher. I admit I like sneak though. I never use ranged weapons I just use amulet of shadows and sneak and clobber them with my blunt weapon. Most of my armor is heavy but I do use the ebony mail when I can get it which is medium armor. Blunt weapon if a class skill for four different guilds, more that any other skill. I like to join all the guilds and getting a high skill level in blunt makes it so I can advance to a high level in imperial cult to get a weapon I like and the temple to get armor I like.

Sweet! Those are nice. Honestly my long range is chosien for throwing stars. With a stealth char i can not help nearly always chooseing a Ninja theam.

You are into the role playing aspect of the game then. I have played characters with good marksman skill. I got a hold of a helmet in Solstein that had constant effect detect creature and with my markman skill at 80 and the bow of shadows I was devastating.

In Morrowind I love playing combat-centric. In Oblivion, however, I've been recently won over to Stealth.

Re: What is your favorite style of play, and how do u play i
My tactics in Morrowind are a little different from in Oblivion, mainly because of the different combat mechanics. I tend to find that combat is the superior distinction in most games, and no different in Morrowind.
However, I'm more of a roguish, high rate of attack and damage output, then a tank, so I find myself playing more of an offensive warrior, which I find Elves, namely the Dunmer, are perfect for (Redguards too, but I don't like to play as them much).
In Morrowind I use Destruction as my ranged attacks, before I engage my foes, whereas in Oblivion I use them as finishing moves/combat 'helpers', while using Marksman for ranged attacks.
In Morrowind, I don't use the bow much, however I still make use of it in my character build, just a little less so than Oblivion. All in all, I try to mix things up and to slay my enemies before they can do too much damage to my character, so Strength and Agility are my two attributes of choice, and The Warrior and The Thief are my preferred birthsigns.

I play as a stealth fighter, use the best dagger I can find, and click rapidly, if I'm lucky the opponent won't even get a hit in. I never really liked the magic system (To much resting/potions), I'm a little iffy on bows because of the fact that, because of the combat system, it doesn't really matter if you hit them or not.

I combine both magic and stealth. I use every type of magic except destruction. I use it to paralyze my opponents, conjure distractions, heal wounds, levitate to a vantage point, and occasionally teleport out of harms way using recall. I attack with a bow from afar and then switch to a short sword and shield when my enemy comes near. I typically go unarmored excluding my shield.

Pretty much this, no matter how hard I try to make myself a stealthy assassin, I always end up being a bad hybride using spells like holy waterKursht wrote:I combine both magic and stealth. I tend to focus on Combat and using magic solely for convenience, "Hit things and blow them up when you can't"

Re: What is your favorite style of play, and how do u play i
lol. Q.F.T.I almost always go for a stealthy warrior-mage. I just like each mode of gameplay so much that i must play them all.
I always put Magic Skills in my Major group (for their starting spells), and Restoration, Long Blade, Medium- or Heavy-, and Light Armor and Armorer as my minors. Then I always wind up getting Sneak, Block and/ or Short Blade pretty high through training for Multipliers, so I always wind up with a very well-rounded character, able to tackle any play-style.
When starting out, I focus on maxing agility first, and play as kind of a nightblade, relying mostly on Destruction/ Conjuration, and Sneak/ Marksman. As I build levels, I relax into a Paralyze-happy Fighter for the greatest part, only using Sneak and Marksman when I want a change of pace, or, as I always play a Breton Apprentice, transitioning to a pure Mage for more change still. But I always go back to being mostly a Fighter. I just get a unique pleasure from walloping stuff with a sword, no matter how powerful my Magic Skills get.

That's me, alright. I sneak up enough to get in range, hit them with a destruction spell, and then go all out Nord on them.beny15 wrote:I almost always go for a stealthy warrior-mage.I just like each mode of gameplay so much that i must play them all.

Re: What is your favorite style of play, and how do u play i
Combat wise, I use Long Blade and Heavy armor generally, sometimes using shields.
Outside combat, I use magic for everything from levitating to opening locks to teleporting, to restoring attributes etc.
However, when I play through my mage and thief characters in the future I may change my mind.

I actually enjoy all 3 of these aspects, though Stealth is my favorite as I like playing assassin characters and sometimes thieves. But I do enjoy being a mage or a warrior every now and again.

I never play a pure style, I always have all three incorporated into my character, even when I try and play a pure style. I always forget to avoid one kind, and then my character isn't so pure anymore. I like Stealth the best, as I like to steal and sneak.

In Morrowind I find magic to be quite fun! Oblivion won me over to combat... and Skyrim (is generally awesome) has made me LOVE stealth!

I usually do all combat but skyrim has made me more stealth, especially the thieves guild since I my first skill I got to 100 was pickpocketing.

Lol good to have friends
I was suprised as heck that the first skill I got to 100 was pickpocketing since every other ES game I usually maxed out light armor first.

Re: What is your favorite style of play, and how do u play i
I use stealth most of the time but when I'm out in the open, it isn't an option(except if you use chameleon) so I use direct combat. I rarely use magic because magicka in this game is a bit scarce since you can't regenerate them and potions are hard to find. I do use enchantments for spells and stat enhancements.
When using stealth, my basic tactics would be assassinating the biggest threat in an area. I mostly target mages or guys with a lot of armor. From there I continue to assassinate other targets until I've been detected and proceed to take down all remaining enemies with direct combat using a long blade and a shield.

Re: What is your favorite style of play, and how do u play i
Morrowind got me into stealth and short blades. Honestly, nothing beats having ten or so knives all enchanted in your inventory and unless your opponent uses them too, they won't even get a hit, no matter how big and deadly their weapon
And of course, long range whatever (crossbow for me) is necessary in this game too, or else you get eaten by the damn birds.
I got to this point from being a warrior with a long blade on my firs playthrough and being sad that I couldn't do anything with Keening...

Kinda a hybred of each,
basicly a rouge.
My Argonian Dual wields Scimitars
and wears light armor, but also
like to sneak up on oponents,
and ocasionaly use Destruction magic.
