So I just started playing Oblivion and gotta say I am kicking myself for having this game for so long and never being able to actually play. The land is so huge, alot of exploring, fun quests..I play and keep thinking to myself hot damn this would make a great MMO.
I was wondering what are your thoughts if The Elder Scrolls goes into the MMO market? Will it work? Can it be good competition against World of Warcraft?
Also if it were you guys making the game what are some ideas you would like to see in a E.S. MMO?

Re: Elder Scrolls MMO?
I personally hate MMOs, but I'd like a co-op feature. I would love to be able to pair up with my brother or one of my friends (who introduced me to the series), but it would have to be achieved in a very drop-in/drop-out manner.

I agree with Duruza.
MMOs=Yuck.
Co-Op=Yay! (although Co-Op kills immersion, I still think it would be cool.)

Re: Elder Scrolls MMO?
As one of the few UESP~ers that does like MMOs, I'll say the IP could work as an MMO, however it would be for an entirely different fanbase.
Seeing how I am waiting for The Old Republic to come out, I'd rather Bethesda didn't make one. Keep the series focused on single player gameplay

I agree with chaos, I plan on playing the old republic for a long time (assuming it doesn't suck) and an elder scrolls mmo would be extremely difficult to balance. mages would be to op.
The sad truth is, kids today will never know why pikachu is never inside a pokeball.

Re: Elder Scrolls MMO?
I... Pretty much agree with what the above 2 said. Including the part about the old republic.
I've been playing mmos for ages, but I think an elder scrolls one would be an awful idea. Completely going against what ES has been, a brilliant, free world role-playing game.

I'm not arrogant. I'm insecure.

They've already confirmed that they wouldn't be doing one any time soon.

Yes they have, and we even have a topic for it: right over here, in fact. Why not take the discussion there so we don't have duplicate threads?
Additionally, Blackfire has a great discussion going, "Why do I think MMOs are terrible?" You can discuss your opinions about multiplayers in general over there.
