All I want to say is this:

Portal 2? I will be making and eating so, so much cake.

Honestly, though, I hope it's a good game. Portal was so fantastic and great - nice story, great puzzles, catchy theme song - but it was so dreadfully short, which I can forgive since the replay value was fantastic. I'm always worried about games getting hyped up and then not living up to said hype, and I'm guilty of doing that. I hope that's not what my inner geek does with Portal 2, though...because I won't forgive it.

Of those games you mentioned, there's only one I look forward to. Diablo III. I played Diablo II a lot when I was younger, and hopefully Diablo III will be even more epic than the first two.
I'd probably be excited about Portal 2, if I had played Portal more than maybe 15 minutes. Maybe I'll have to play that some more.
The reason I'm not excited about Dragon Age 2 is because Dragon Age: Origins was so damn disappointing. I thought it was gonna be epic and awesome and everything, and I played it for like a week. Haven't looked at it since.

Diablo III was announced only two years ago— so it'll probably come out just in time for the Mayan calendar to run out.

I say this as an actual Diablo fan. :|

Dark Spark Fun Fact: did you know that, in 2011, we'll have only six years left before the random-item generator of Diablo I finally runs out?
Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.

Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

Other than ESV, my most anticipated title is LA Noire. Full facial motion capturing for the first time in games, and the ability to change the storyline based on reactionary response. Awesome. Plus it's a whodunnit thriller, a much needed addition to the gaming world!

I think/hope that MGS:Rising is coming 2011. The first MG game to come to Xbox. But as you well know,Konami are infamous for postponing. Could be on the next generation of consoles that we eventually see it.

Is it weird that I spend pretty much all my gaming time on my PS3 and haven't played any Uncharted game?

KZ3's beta disappointed me because they got rid of the weapon weight that made the gameplay so special. Now it's just your average shooter when it comes to that. Still, I'm excited about it.

Resistance, that's another PS3 exclusive I've only played once at a friend's house and never got around to buying it for me. Mostly because I wasn't that much into shooters when I tried it out.

Mass Effect 3, I'll only know my level of excitement after playing ME2 in a couple of months. But if it's anything like Dragon Age in terms of sheer awesomeness, then I'd cut off a finger to have it right now.

Portal 2. Yes! YES! YES! (continues)

Never really got into the Tomb Raider games, so I'll probably have to pass that one.

Dragon Age 2. Need I say anything?

Doom. Meh.

Crysis 2: I'll probably get it to see what all the fuss is about.

Diablo 3. I would have played both Diablo games to exhaustion if I had them. And I'd be playing this one if my computer weren't so crappy.

The games I am definitely (hopefully) going to get next year: Little Big Planet 2, Mass Effect 3, Portal 2, Killzone 3, Skyrim, Motorstorm Apocalypse, The Last Guardian and Infamous 2.

Skyrim, Portal II and Mass Effect 3. I don't really know anything about the others, so I've got no opinion there.

I've been reading about it in the latest Australian Game Informer. It actually look really clever, a sort of adventure survival game, showing how Lara Croft became the person she is.
nyk45 wrote:Crysis 2: I'll probably get it to see what all the fuss is about.
Most of the fuss is because it's on consoles now. Crysis was like the good FPS console player never heard of. Yet I've seen the graphics on consoles: no LoD trees, neutered physics and no motion blur, plus no Anti-aliasing. Even the enemy AI is cut back on, even though it was one of the biggest overhauls done for C2.

From what I've seen, the console and PC versions will have very different control schemes. No suit-mode wheel for console and instead runs of some weird dynamic button control (eg: Hold jump down longer for a higher jump), PC's will have more functions and the Mode wheel intact.

But the game looks very, very interesting. I'm sure to get it on PC.

I doubt that. It's like God for all the graphic-[&@%!] out there, regardless the platform they own.

It's true, a lot of my friends whom are console player only heard about it from me (the only PC player in the year at my school). What's funny is that console players will get thrown into the second half of the story, with no option to play the first game if they don't have a decent computer.

You missed two important Nintendo games. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is supposed to come out in January (or at least, that's what they said at E3), and the new Pokémon games are coming out in the spring.

Mass Effect 3: Best Series evah, except for TES, my only concern is that a year in the making equals a one hour main quest.

Dragon Age 2: Should be great. 'Nuff said.

TES V: Should be greater. 'Nuff said x2.

Dragon Age 2, TES: V and Pokemon Black and White are all on my slate for purchase this coming year(I've actually already pre-ordered DA2). Hopefully, we'll be adding to that Guild Wars 2, Diablo 3, and Star Wars: The Old Republic. If, by some massive planetary alignment, we get all of them in one year, it will surely be the best year in the history of time.

There's way too many awesome games coming in '11. You hit many of the good ones in the OP, but don't forget MvC3, the new Mortal Kombat, Hitman 5 (maybe?), I even heard there's a new Deus Ex on the way.

TR9 seems pretty much set for '11 and from what I've heard, sounds like it's going to be the best since Legends at least. DIII is NEVER coming out. It's vaporware on par with Daikatana and Duke Nukem Forever... which, oddly enough, seems to be "ready for release in 2011". Huhuhuh, yeah, right, I'll believe it when I see it in stores, Axel Rose.

Also, bonus points for mentioning the new MGS! I wasn't even aware of that one; I'll have to check it out, thanks!

-edit- Ah, God dammit, it's Raiden and it's not stealth. Whiskey tango foxtrot!!!!!

I've heard this complaint too often. Mass Effect 2 was released in January 2010. Mass Effect 3 will be released in November/December 2011. Closer to two years between releases than one year. Almost the same amount of time passed between Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2.
It's been good travelling with you, Warden. Don't get lost in the shuffle now.
