It's been a while since I last visited these forums, but now it's time for me to start Daggerfall after completing both Arena and Oblivion earlier this year.
I've set the dosbox.conf file as most people recommend:
core=dynamic
cycles=max
cycleup=500
cycledown=500
...and my computer really sucks:
896 MHz AMD Athlon
768 MB RAM
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition 2002 Service Pack 3
...but Arena worked pretty well. Daggerfall doesn't. The speed is pretty good, but what bothers me is that the animation is kind of laggy - the swinging sword animation is divided into four images and so on. Almost as if I had frame skip on, but it's at zero. Walking is fine, it's just the combat that bothers me.
Is there anything else I can do? If not, is there perhaps another DOS emulator that's more friendly to less enhanced computers?
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Problem is solved - taken care of on other forums.
