What's your zombie plan?

Post by Dark Lord Cam »

After watching this vid here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzkJbWl45kU&NR=1

i felt it was worth asking what your zombie plans were 8D

here is a simplified version of my plan

1 find a weapon
2 find food
3 find a way out of town but avoid the freeways
4 go into the woods and cut down trees to build palisade
5 grow food and possibly find other survivors
6 do my best to survive a long siege without going crazy
7 if i survive said siege but zombies break through the wall then i must find an escape route
8 pray to the heavens the zombie next to me doesnt bite me in the face

I would

1. Assemble with my family and friends (no more than 10)
2. gather as much food as i can and supplies like matches and the sort
3. Try to get to a safe zone like on top of a building (no more than 3 stories)
4. Get weapons, such as powertools and small firearms that are easier to find
5. GAS, and lots of it, good trap material
6. Wait it out and try to get with another survivalists

That is a good book, same with World War Z. Its a little bit of an easy read, but its interesting how the book is like a interview with all the survivors.

Good.
Hackattack wrote:2. gather as much food as i can and supplies like matches and the sort
Correct.
Hackattack wrote:3. Try to get to a safe zone like on top of a building (no more than 3 stories)
Do NOT stay on top of the building! Stay inside, just demolish the stairs. Remember, zombies have the mental capacity of an insect!
Hackattack wrote:4. Get weapons, such as powertools and small firearms that are easier to find
And attract hundreds of more undead? Powertools are very, very noisy. Firearms are only permitted if silenced.
Hackattack wrote:5. GAS, and lots of it, good trap material
Zombies do not feel pain, therefore fire has little to no effect.
Hackattack wrote:6. Wait it out and try to get with another survivalists
Yes, but paint some sort of signal on the roof (not lights or noisemakers!) so passing helicopters or planes will spot you.

You may have trouble with the horses, as all animals have a natural instinct to run away from the undead.

Then the zombies shall have trouble with my shotgun. Most animals have an instinct to drop dead when their brains are scattered over a large area, rather than in their head....>.<

i have 37 zombie plans, here are my top 3

ZOMBIE PLAN ALPHA

1. Gather what supplies i can carry in backpack (flashlight batteries, lighter fluid, extra zippo, g-shock watch [very durable] matches and candles, spagehtios and can opener, bottles of water, spray paint, medicine)

2. make way to gander mountain [sporting goods store] and camp put there ( they have guns, food, stoves, shooting range, AND showers  ) idk why though

3. use empty weapons racks to block doors, camp out in a fortified area compete with sleeping bag, camp stove, and a trusty shotgun, also have several handguns within reach for use upon myself if the need arises.

4. make sign on roof with spray paint to let other survivers know of my safe haven

ZOMBIE PLAN OMEGA

1. (see part 1 of zombie plan alpha)

2. Hide inside of ancient castle complete with rabid alligator infested moat and working draw bridge.

3. Moat will be 50 feet deep by 25 feet wide. sit at top of castle wall and shoot zombies in the head with my .22 long rifle

4. grow food in castle courtyard.

5. Survivors will know of me (ill make sure of it)

Zombie Plan Gamma

1. (see part 1 of zombie plan omega)

2. Go to my local army navy store, Gather what supplies i can from there.

3. wander onto college campus, use dorm building as haven for survivors.

4. use what supplies i can find on college campus to fortify our dorm

5. Have gasoline ready in friends hummer H2, make trips to gander mountain and other areas to look for survivors.

6. Once apocolpyse and come to a steady standstill, send out groups of 3 as search and raid partys to gather more supplies (not steal from other survivors) and kill all zombies they can.

*All weapons talked about will be silenced and set for semi-auto and 3 round burst fire ONLY to conserve ammo

Hope Ill see some of you when the time comes, well make a day of it. IF power and water remain working i will play some oblivion in order to remain sane during my ordeal

I would choose a location to turn into my base of operations (BOO). Like my house or a nearby store.
I would pick up weapons asap, like knives, an axe, a baseball bat...
Then, I'll put food in bags and carry them to my BOO. I'll use a car so I can take it all with me in one ride.
I'll use any materials I can find to fortify my BOO. Wood, large objects... I'll try to hold position there as long as possible and kill any zombies I encouter. In the meantime, I'll try to get more food, some decent weapons (guns!) and find other survivors.

But it largely depends on the threat of the zombies. If they're very slow and can't climb on buildings, I'll just find a high building and build a small encampment on top of it. Once a week I've got to get some food but that's about it.

And honestly, if we ever encouter a virus that turns us into zombies, I think the chance that we're aggressive is very low. And even if we are aggressive, we probably won't be able to think normally, and thus don't know how to walk, use a gun etc.

Contrary to popular belief, shotguns are terrible weapons against zombies. Loud, inaccurate, heavy ammo, and a slow rate of fire make this weapon useless.

Ding, Ding, Ding! The .22 is one of the best anti-zombie weapons!
Sonixboom wrote:5. Have gasoline ready in friends hummer H2, make trips to gander mountain and other areas to look for survivors.
Do NOT take an SUV, especially the Hummer! As a gas guzzler, your entire supply of gasoline would be gone in days. Plus, all vehicles make lots of noise, attracting even more zombies. Either go on bike (the store you mentioned should have good bikes) or on foot.
Sonixboom wrote:*All weapons talked about will be silenced and set for semi-auto and 3 round burst fire ONLY to conserve ammo
Good idea, if you can find said silencers.

Yes! The zombies second best weapon is their dreadful moans. They can demoralize all of your fellow survivors and perhaps even lead them to suicide. If anyone you know has good jokes or is just a plain silly person, make them perform!

the .22 is a small accurate and a somewhat silent round (as compared to a .45 or a .357)

very easy to find and carry around with you.

you can literally fit about a 1000 rounds of .22 ammo in a shoebox :)

with a .22 long rifle i can snipe the zombies from FAR away and keep extra ammo on hand, some small caliber handguns also use .22 ammo, cuts back on the ammo types i must carry AND lets me have a stockpile of a single type of ammo instead of many types of different ammo, all in all a great round.

REMEMBER it doesnt matter how big a hole you make in the zombies head, just that you shoot em in it :)

I do indead have friends taht are funny and will make you laugh by saying simple things like... POPTARTS

Plus the .22 rounds dont pack enough punch to exit through the back of the skull, so they bounce around, causing extra damage. ;) And the ammo cand be puchesed literally anywhere ammunition is sold, prolly even Wal-Mart. (Cactus, you're set ;))
And when things start to happen,
don't worry. Don't stew.
Just go right along.
You'll start happening too.

you can also get a .45 revolver at most weapon shops.

use a standard metal drill (drill for drilling holes in metal) and drill out the rifling from the barrel

.410 shotgun shells are fairly common (sell 'em at walmart i think) and you can have a revolving shotgun, the .410 shells fit in the .45 slots. great for some NICE zombie killing or as a last resort weapon

.22 long rifles are great becuase of there light weight easyness to get ahold of, these coupled with a short katana (tanto) will make up my arsenal

My personal .22 long rifle will be magazine fed (holds anywhere from 10-35 rounds per mag) I'll have 3 of these handguns though, 2 under my arms (shoulder holsters) and one halfway down my leg incase of emergency, sword goes on my back. Becuase of the light weight of all these weapons I will still be mobile.

In the vent the hummer doesnt work i have a standard 2 door honda civic hatchback (1988) great car, very reliable and I has the best visibility of any car ive ever seen.

I will be a survivor and I will live though this.
