Got another one for y'all. The "magicrepair 1" function seems to have no effect in my game. I've added the line to the z.cfg file in order to enable repairing of magic items, but my magic items aren't being repaired. I have multiple "repairing" items equipped, and I've tried dropping everything except the items I want to be repaired, but their condition never changes, even after entire days of resting. (Yes, I have patch 213.)
In fact, come to think of it, even my NON-magical items are not being repaired. Huh, didn't realize that until now. Is there something I'm overlooking here? Fortunately, unlike my artifact problem, this one is easily fixed; many editors have a "repair all items" function, so I can "pretend" that the repair ability is working properly. Still, figured I'd ask.
"magicrepair 1" = still no repairing

Are you running the game with this command line: fall.exe z.cfg ?

I am not, but my understanding was that this was necessary only if no modifications to the z.cfg file were being recognized. I once needed to enable cheatmode to warp to a quest target location in a dungeon (turns out it was bugged), and the cheatmode line in z.cfg was recognized by the game. I figured that the magicrepair command would likewise be recognized.luciusDXL wrote:Are you running the game with this command line: fall.exe z.cfg ?
I'll try it with the autoexec.bat line added, though, just to see. Thanks.

Re: "magicrepair 1" = still no repairing
I know this is a really old post, but has anyone else come up against this problem and found a solution? I'm facing the same issue where the repair objects enchantment isn't repairing anything at all, magical or otherwise. I do have the magicrepair 1 line in my z.cfg file, and I am running Daggerfall under fall.exe z.cfg.
Could it be something I'm doing wrong in game? I've played around with other enchantments, and they all seem to work just fine. It's only the repair objects enchantment I can't get to work. I have a ruby enchanted with the repair objects power, I've equipped it, I've dropped everything including the stuff on my cart except the one item I want repaired (which I have also equipped), and I've rested for as much as twenty hours, but still no improvement in the condition of my equipment.
If anyone knows the trick to get this working, I'd really appreciate hearing it. Thanks!

Re: "magicrepair 1" = still no repairing
Update: I finally got the repair object function working. I deleted the magicrepair 1 line from my z.cfg file, then re-entered it and re-saved the file. It's been working fine ever since.
I did notice, however, that it doesn't repair items in the order that I've read about. It seems to repair non-magical items first, starting with the ones in the worst condition. Only after all of the non-magic items are brought up to "new" does it start on the magical items, again beginning with those in the worst condition.
Hope this information proves helpful to anyone else who may end up facing the same issue.

I can't get this to work either....does this only effect items with an Enchanted Item with "Repair" on it or can you go to an actual smith and have them repair such items?

Just use DaggerEd to fix the items
