A Graphics Question...
A Graphics Question...
I finally got Oblivion working on my new rig (w00t!) and before I can play, I need to setup the best graphics my video card can handle. I've put everything the way I want it except for one thing:
Should I put on HDR or Anti-aliasing?

Re: A Graphics Question...
If you don't have a fairly high spec computer, I would go for AA. It is a bit easier on your graphics card than HDR.
I used to play Oblivion, then I took an arrow in the knee.

I read about it, and there's a way I can have BOTH on at the same time
nVidia has a control panel that will let me force anti-aliasing and other things.

If your computer, or card, is good enough just do everything all the way, and try it out, if it runs slow, change it back.

What has that to do with the topic?AEthriel wrote:if your computer makes a gurgling noise (im not joking) hard restart it and reset it.

Re: A Graphics Question...
I just got a new computer too
Oblivion on 1920x1080
HDR On
Distance Settings all maxed
All detail settings (water detail etc.) turned on/maxed
I've got a Sapphire HD4890 Vapor-X 1GB graphics card.
So I'd say go for HDR and if your computer can handle it use AA as well.

Re: A Graphics Question...
So I tried it and it wouldn't even start through OBSE. It works great with Vanilla Oblivion, but half the mods I use won't work. So I'll just go with HDR.

I've got a 24"" widescreen monitor
Oblivion on high detail is great, though
Especially your player character and the views over Cyrodiil when you're standing on Dive Rock or following the road from Chorrol to Bruma.

Nice. I'm not too fond of ATi, but that's just me.
