TOTALLY F'd UP LAST THIEVES GUILD QUEST - NEED MAJOR HELP

Wow... I REALLY feel stupid. If anyone's completed it, I need help. I have this really cool invisibility spell that I cast a lot (pretty much during this whole quest... you know, abusing my maxed intelligence, willpower, and magicka potions). Yeah, well I FINALLY got out of the palace and headed back to the Grey Fox... without the scroll! I guess I was having too much fun being invisible that I kind of just walked right past the blind monks. Yeah, idiot, I know. So I thought, "Well, maybe if I do it again and rush through real fast and pick up the scroll I could finish it!... Nope. When you get to the part where you need to shoot the arrow to unlock the secret door IT RELOCKS! The statue is open, but the door says it needs a key!!! And I'm totally screwed because I don't have a save before I left the palace! By the way, I'm on a 360 so I don't think I can put in any commands...

ANYBODY! I NEED HELP!!!

I would say that based on the number of reads and the fact you haven't received an answer, you're screwed. Just do the quest again from some previous save, it's not that bad.

Believe it or not I did the same thing. I was low on health and arrows and had a gangload of monks and soldiers trying to kill me, so I jumped down the chute. Anyways instead of just starting from my last save point I worked my way out of the sewers, did a couple of missions all with the thought of coming back through the secret door and doing the mission again. But like you said, the secret door is locked and won't open. I obviously couldn't fly back up the chute so I, like you, was screwed I had to backtrack 5 hours of gameplay and start over again.

oh man mine was much worse than both of yours, but i wont go into details as ive made my own thread long ago, yea since your on the 360 your freakin screwed

anyways, theres no way to unlock the door after you enter so its a bad thing to mess up
trust me when i say ive done EVERYTHING possible on the 360 to get that door unlocked but theres nothing, so...sorry
you should get the chameleon spell from the guy in arcane university(must be expert illusion) for 75% chameleon and then do the daedric quest for the khajiit ring for 30% chameleon and now you have 100% chameleon so you dont have to keep casting invisibility every time you do something

If you can make it back to the room with the monks without getting attacked, make sure you don't talk to them and make sure you just go in and sit in the chair and wait for them to bring the scroll to you. Once they do, grab it, sneak up the stairs and leave.

If you leave them alone and don't attack initially, they are ok to you...but to get out of the room successfully and up the stairs undetected, you have to sneak.

Yeah, I think this first happened to me. I have searched for every alternative to finishing this quest and STILL have not found one. (Which sucks because that's the last achievement I have to unlock!) And it seems to happen to a lot of people now... so, welcome to the club!!!
