Win32 Error

Post by kahemker »

I have mounted my directory on my real computer with the Arena file into DOSbox.

Now, whenever I type "Arena106" into the command prompt I get this error:

"This program must be run under Win32"

What do you suggest that I do to remedy this?

Also, I am running on OS X 10.4

I usually drag ARENA.bat on my DOSbox icon, that works for me.

What do you mean "Arena.bat"? I downloaded the Arena106.exe file from Bethesda's website. Where can I find this Arena.bat file?

You need to click on Arena106.exe and install it first. Then go to where you installed it and you'll see Arena.bat. Arena106.exe is the install program. The default install location is C:\ARENA.

EDIT:
Take a look at this site http://www.uesp.net/wiki/General:Playin ... der_DOSBox It tells you how to install it and run it.

Thank you. I have it running now. I didn't realize that Stuffit Expander could uncompress .exe files.

My issue now is that the game runs awfully slow. I am sure there are ways to make the emulator run faster, it will just take some digging. If you guys have any recommendations on your settings, let me know.

Yea there sre ways

Here:
http://www.dosbox.com/wiki/Special_Keys

CTRL-F11 Decrease DOSBox cycles (slows down the emulation).
CTRL-F12 Increase DOSBox cycles (speeds up the emulation).

Hope that helps. :D

CTRL F7 and F8 decrease/increase frame rate. Use it.
