(SI) Mania or Dementia?

Post by PinballWizard »

Right now, I'm trying to choose between going through the mania or dementia gate into the Shivering Isles. I know it doesn't make much difference, but I'd still like to choose one that fits my character. Like, my character is more of an "evil" type, and I like Dementia's clothes, weapons, and armor better. But then, I love exploring the vibrant landscape of the shiver isles, with insane people, and that stuff. I'm stuck. I like them both a bunch, but I can't choose. So... what do you guys perfer?

It doesn't really matter which door you use to enter the Isles, because you'll still be able to explore both sides. The only difference is that, if you enter through the Mania door, you get the Blessing of Mania, and if you enter through the Dementia door, you get the Blessing of Dementia. If your character is evil and dark, I think you should choose Dementia. However, I like Mania more because there's more Argonians there.

I've done both sides. I prefer Mania. The people there are just so much more funny to me. They got that TV homeless guy groove going on.

I like Mania/Bliss the most, because it's brighter, prettier, funnier, crazier and overall cooler than the creepy Dementia.
Though Crucible has 3 more Khajiits than Bliss, you can persuade one of them to move to Bliss and would down it to 1 or equal amount of Khajiits(depending on how far you're in MQ).
Doin my own, thang, and if you got a problem with that
Then the nina go bang, bang, and I'll be everywhere on the map - but
I rep that West

Oh. I did not know that. Cool. I ended up choosing Dementia anyhow, because I went through Mania last time I played shivering isles

Oh I forgot to mention, if you don't already know, it's possible to double dib liberally between the two. I'm a fan of heavy armor so I love the dementia madness armor. Also in the quests you can switch back and forth between favoring mania and dementia and while they may gripe a little from time to time there's nothing truly at stake besides your own sense of loyalty. As for blessings I like Mania's for the frenzy, but only really for entertainment value of creating random bloodbaths.

Dementia for sure.I had a redguard called terelor the dark god(its sooo random i know) his class was custom called Hell Knight(i forget skills)

He looked so amazing for that phsychopathic, evil character and he had pale skin with dark eyecyrcles and lips.I love that gothic style, I have it on most of my characters.I think it looks amazing but im not really a goth.

And if your on the PC and dont like your name too much you should change it to Sheogorath after finishing the MQ its sooo cool

As lexicologically-scarce the above phrase is, I have to agree with it. Mania is indeed the more aesthetically-pleasing half of the Shivering Isles.

Go to syl,lady of dementia.

Open up the console, target syl and type duplicateallitem player

the words duplicateallitems are all stuck together and then its a space and the word player

Then open up your inventory and select you armor for your torso or any clothes youre wearing

(Only male do this for floating head if your a female you will get syl's costume)

This isn't the place for that.

Edit: Syl's costume is not playable.

Dementia as a demoralize spell is more expensive and useful than a frenzy spell. Besides you can get a frenzy greater power in another SI mission anyway.

You maybe right on Syl's Dress.
But as for Dremora armor, you're 100% wrong.

Kill a Dremora below the level 20, and loot his corpse. You can't take the armor.

No something you can't be right about is that this is off topic and that the first post of yours was clearly spam as it had nothing to do with the topic.

As I said in my first reply to it, which you were totally oblivious too.

You are still wrong.

Also, after looking closely at the CS entries, they aren't playable.

Neither is Syl's. I was right all along, you, wrong.

And note: You can only get Dremora weapons and shields, not armor.

Ok as I believe that the CS is never wrong but you dont seem to understand me.

Look closely at what I write and understand it

You CAN get dremora armor in your inventory(PC only)but it will not show up and thus cannot be selected and equiped.

Using the console commands to duplicate all the items of a dremora(PC only) you can get the dremora armor on your player, BUT, it is a 1 time armor and once you take it off you CANNOT equip it again but i remains in your inventory unuseable.

Kestral, using the console you can equip Syl's dress and the area it covers turns "invisible". I used the console commands "player.additem 0007393C 1" and then "player.equipitem 0007393C 1" to equip her dress. And once equipped, I became a "floating head" (and tail since I was playing as an Argonian). Here's a screenshot of it.

Yes tainaava is 100% correct and by the way if your a female you have the dress and your body isnt invis. This is the same with dremora armor but the only exeption is that dremora can be female so the armor will work on them too seing as it is daedric in appearence.

That's also true. If you're a female character and you do this, your body will be visible, but your head and feet won't. Here's a screenshot of a female character wearing Syl's Dress.

I tried it again, and this time the head did appear with an Argonian. I guess my game just glitched last time. Here's a screenshot.

We should get this thread back on topic now.
