That being said, I don't want them to look like lifeless sex-objects like that mod seems to make them. Contrary to popular belief, men don't just want tits.

Yeah, no offence, but that looked like I was in a Barbie doll factory. Also, put images in spoilers. I just wanted some of the wrinkles gone. That was just, ^what Frosty said.

Re: Gender you play as most?
Some of those wrinkles are what add, er, character to a character.
I've been trying out various mods lately to find an improved skin texture and they've all made the NPC's and mine characters look like plastic.
All I have is CBBE Vanilla Nevernude (with a custom dirty skin texture) and Better Males with default underwear. I just use XCE face textures with them because the other mods remove the various wrinkles and other "marks" which makes them resemble people. As a note to my slight obsessiveness over small details, I just about lost it when I tried some new face textures and found that Vulom had lost the lines around her eyes and lips. They're part of what give life to my characters (as much life as a video game character can have, anyway) and I really don't like it when they are taken away.

Re: Gender you play as most?
I find I actually try to stay near androgyny. Female breton with a rogue knot and the most feminine thing worn being something like a Dark brotherhood robe (from oblivion) or the archmage robes (skyrim).
That's assuming I actually play a more "human" like race. I don't really care about the choice if I'm an argonian or khajiit.

And then you have people, like Aela, who are very beautiful, and are meant to be. Until you take the facepaint off. Look it up, no need for those wrinkles. Or the rest of it.Mauin wrote:Some of those wrinkles are what add, er, character to a character.

Re: Gender you play as most?
That it is not to your taste, no problem, but the body mod is UNP not CBBE and only one woman is wearing anything remotely revealing in the bar but the priestess of Kynereth is wearing the only skimpy outfit in the mod which was a design choice that doesn't bother me since only 7 women out of more than 150 are so clothed. If you want your priestesses to look like nuns then the vanilla outfits are evidently your cup of tea, enjoy.Frost Mage wrote:That being said, I don't want them to look like lifeless sex-objects like that mod seems to make them. Re: Gender you play as most?
Only male characters. Though I have had male characters swing either way oddly enough. And my Breton(now officially defunct due to glitches) married orcish. Made sense at the time at least. After a while I moved Borgahk Steel-heart out of my house into another because her gravely "yes, love?" started really grating on my nerves. "Go hang out with Lydia and eat my sweet rolls in Whiterun. I'll come get you when I need someone to bash things".
I used to play female characters in table top, though, not exclusively by a looong shot. Just can't get past character creation in video games. When I create a male character I'm creating a "character". I have an idea of what he is supposed to look like to match the personality that I have created for him. When I have tried to create female character I feel pressured to make her look attractive, hahaha. What is up with that!?!

Re: Gender you play as most?
Ha I know what you mean. I like to play both sides of the coin on my female characters. When not out leaving behind a trail of destruction, the Altmer goes on shopping trips to Solitude, changes her outfit everyday, models clothes for the Jarl. The Imperial is an earthy tomboy that plays in the woods.Br3admax wrote:Yeah, I wish a single npc, besides Serana, looked as good as the ones I make.
And although I like the company the spouse keeps my characters, it does get a bit dull having to bump into him at the house all the time, hearing him say cheesy things. It would sound much nicer coming from a female: "Hello, my love" than meathead Onmund.

And it totally does not fit in with Skyrim's theme.
No offense, but that mod really just caricates gender differences more than they already are, and the artwork isn't that good either.
Because there's no fun to be found in being normal.

Re: Gender you play as most?
(I'm tempted to reply to the mod discussion, but such things really belong elsewhere.)
I'm female. I currently have four female and two male characters. Which would seem to indicate I prefer playing females, but honestly, I don't much care. I come up with character ideas, and then I make them.
None of my characters are married yet, but I'll have absolutly no qualms about marrying the guys to girls when the opportunity presents itself. Actually, I have future wives picked out for both of them, but only one of my girls has a potential husband.

Re: Gender you play as most?
Well why not try bridging the two together. As much as I do like to be good looking, whether I'm playing a male or female, I do try to think from a female's point of view when I'm playing one. Obviously I'm going to be less than perfect at this. I will say that I'm careful about what I dress my female characters in (both PC and NPC). Women of a higher station in Skyrim dress quite conservatively, reflecting this my female character is embarrassed to wear something as revealing as the standard barmaid outfit. This isn't to say you can't make a character that dresses less conventionally or as Aurielius has done reimagine Skyrim completely. But in general my characters will follow social norms unless there is something about their character that causes them to defy a specific norm.Elenath wrote:(I'm tempted to reply to the mod discussion, but such things really belong elsewhere.)

Ahm.
I play a goodly amount of characters, both male and female, though I tend to gravitate more toward the 'female' end of the spectrum.

Re: Gender you play as most?
How can I say this in the nicest way possible? Aurielus, you have turned the Elder Scrolls V into Saints Row the Third. Do you know that it is cold in Skyrim? That even Riften is a little above freezing? And do you know that while some of the developers may have some type of a "problem", that the men here respect women. And yes, priestesses should be nuns, that's sort of the point. This mod makes most women look skimpy, and a jarls court look like it is a Rockstar game. No one dresses like that in Tamriel, and for good reason. A few wrinkles gone, okay. "Where my money at!", not the best choice.p-sto wrote:Not going to lie, it has kind of a pimps and hos vibe. Re: Gender you play as most?
I've only played as female so far since I'm female and it helps me relate to my characters. I'd like trying a male for a different play style though; I want to try a melee-based tank with heavy armor, rather than my light-armor elf who excels at archery, and I think a big Nord guy would fit that pretty well.

To teens, 30 is looking 50 and 40 is looking dead.Evil-i wrote:And what the hell is wrong with looking 40?
Male myself, I voted male because out of the seven characters I've made so far five are my own gender, but the character I've actually played more than any single one of the others is female - and, surprise surprise, loves women too. The latter wasn't so much a conscious decision, but she's my Dark Brotherhood character, and I was rather smitten with Astrid the moment I first saw her leaning in that doorway without a mask, so I decided to run with it roleplaying-wise, and it's fun.
That said, my other female character was rather appreciative of Argis the Bulwark's devotion to her and has been known to speculate how far his housecarl duties might be extended. And when it came to thinking of marriage for my Argonian, I was sorely tempted to make him gay as it would have doubled the choice of eligible spouses, except I found that I liked Shahvee well enough.

I want to be able to make young or old characters but the character creator allows for pretty much no age variation.

female here. I always play female and both my characters have married females. I was considering marrying vilkas but those eyes...ewww--went for Aela instead. Never really gave it much thought but also, I'm white and all my characters are redguard as I think they're the most attractive.
