Elder Scrolls VI: The Illacs (ideas)

Post by Cabish9699 »

Hey guys. Cabish here, and this is my first post here. I've kinda been bored between waiting for ESO and other things, so I've had ideas swimming around my head for about 6 months on a 6th TES game. So, I'm just trying to write these down somewhere, and get some feedback. Anyway, hope you guys enjoy!

The Elder Scrolls VI: The Illacs

Setting:
The game would take place in both Hammerfell and High Rock, with the Illac Bay being the main area of interest. In High Rock, the Bretons have used their magic to create a more advanced society. Think of the dying Wild West. In Hammerfell, however, the land is based more like the older TES games, where it has more of a medieval setting. The game would take place in either late 4E or early 5E.

Main Quest
The main antagonist would be a giant snake creature, that resides in the Illacs. The main character stumbles upon a ritual site, and accidentally awakens the monster in the prologue of the game. This monster would plan to devour the Illac Bay, then all of Tamriel. The MQ would see the Player Character traveling across the two regions, searching for clues on how to defeat the monster.

Civil War Sidequest
Much like Skyrim, this game would also have a major war as a sidequest. The Empire-controlled High Rock is trying to get the Independent Hammerfell to join the Empire. After a century, tension has reached an all time high, and the two regions are now in war. You can choose which side to be on, and, as such, influence the game and fate of the war.

I'd also think it'd be cool to have a secret area near the starting area, which teleports you to a small section of a eastern region of Tamriel, where there is a group of surviving men from Akavir. After doing a couple of different quests for them, you come back to find Tosh Raka has destroyed the village, threatening to conquer Nirn, before flying back to Akavir.

Anyway, that's all I have for now. Remember to leave any feedback or changes you'd like.

well lets see, first of all, i doubt the next game will be set across both High Rock and Hammerfell, it might be set across one of them, but not both of them because Daggerfall already did that and it would be too big for the current games ... but you never know (Dragonborn returned to Solstheim ? )

the main quest sounds too much like a sidequest, see in the other games there is always a reason that YOU are the hero, in Morrowind and Skyrim you were born with it in you, n Oblivion you had the Amulet of Kings entrusted to you, in Daggerfall the emperor of all tamriel had ordered you to do it ... anyway, my point is that while you might be able to stumble upon the main quest, there has to be a reason that our character would stick to the quest and actually do it :P (then again ... there was the amulet )

and the Civil War just sounds like a repeat of the Skyrim civil war, i would rather they come up with something different :)

well, thats what i think, hope i helped

That snake sounds a lot like Alduin, which makes no sense. Also any giant snake would be Lorkhan, who would not destroy the world. Than there is the fact that you are just making up things like the High Rock being an advance society from magic, which only the Dwemer achieved. It is not going to happen again. The Civil War quest doesn't make much since, and it wouldn't even be a civil war. The whole Akavir thing sounds kind of bizarre to put it nicely. I hate to bash your first post so sorry about that, but this makes little sense in a Elder Scrolls setting. Sounds cool though.

Welcome to the forums by the way. :D

Hi Cabish, and welcome to the forums.

We already have two threads dedicated to TES VI: http://forums.uesp.net/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=21063 and http://forums.uesp.net/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=27470. Both of these would be better places to discuss your ideas for the next game.

Please have a look at the forum rules to ensure that your future posts don't break any.
