Favorite/Best Conjuration Spell
I didn't see this topic anywhere in this forum (for Skyrim, at least).
What's your favorite, and/or what do you consider the best, Conjuration spell?
Mine's definitely Summon Dremora Lord (so far; haven't had a chance to try Summon Unbound Dremora). In battle, he sprints out of his summons, and just cuts everyone to pieces; he's got a [&@%!]-ton of health, his great sword has a fire enchantment, and he's decked-out in full Daedric armor. And, of course, I can simply re-summon him if he dies (which is rare, against most enemies--speaking of which, Dragon Priests can't take control of him).

Re: Favorite/Best Conjuration Spell
I love atronachs. I know, they're not as good as Dremora, but I just like the idea of summoning elemental Daedra over Dremora Lords.
Conjuration is my favorite school, but most of the spells I use are atronach related. I don't much care for necromancy or bound weapons.

Re: Favorite/Best Conjuration Spell
I haven't used a battlemage in ages, but I'd have to say storm atronach cause all I need is cover fire from a distance. My mages get up close and personal with a sword an heavy armor.

isn't the unbound dremora only usable atop the college?
My favorite would have to be the controlling spell as it lets me take whatever an enemy is using and turn it against them. The best is still dremora lord. Those guys just wreck. Wish there were more ranks of every summoned so it didn't feel like some just get shelfed (familiar).

I prefer the summon familiar spell in terms of my favorite spell. Because I like the idea of summoning something from nature, not just a daedra or zombie.

Re: Favorite/Best Conjuration Spell
Honestly, necromancy is my favorite magic ever. I use atromancy specifically with my Altmer, but necromancy with my assassin and I enjoy it much more. The things that zombies do and say never gets old. Plus some dead bodies can be more powerful than atronachs. And there is just something special about killing off an enemy and then using him/her to fight off the rest of their friends.
Although I always crack up when I hear the dremora lord say: "You return? Foolish mortal!"

Re: Favorite/Best Conjuration Spell
My favorite is Conjure Dremora Lord. Like you said in the first post, he's pretty strong. He doesn't block doors nearly as much as Frost or Storm atronachs. His voice/dialogue is a bit narmy, but it's useful to hear him say "A challenger is near!" when something pops out unexpected. I haven't used necromancy at all, though I might with a different character sometime.

Re: Favorite/Best Conjuration Spell
One from a mod actually, lets me summon draugr/skeletons. Makes me feel much more necromancery having them instead of having glowy people who occasionally moan.

Re: Favorite/Best Conjuration Spell
i use a double wrathman.
i'm not sure how their damage compares with a dremora lord, but the undead line in the perk tree makes them pretty tough.

My favorite would have to be the bound weapons. Specifically the bound sword. One of my characters is a redguard that I like to role play as the last of the sword singers. I also like summoning arvak.

Arvak is the best horse in the game.
I mostly use bound weapons out of the conjuration spells, and soul trap, but that doesn't really count as a favourite spell.

Dead thrall. Anyone who goes against me is raised to serve me in death. Necromancy is my favourite type of magic in the TES universe.

Flaming familiar really helps against a large group of Stormcloaks, bandits, wolves, etc.
Then there's the bound weapons which are beneficial if you play as a pure mage and are cornered. Resurrecting people is fun and Flame Atronachs deal a decent amount of damage, despite their horrible aim.

Re: Favorite/Best Conjuration Spell
Almost the same on my end - I also prefer elemental daedra when wandering the wilderness, but in actual combat I enjoy watching the dremora lords go beserk on enemies.Witchery wrote:I love atronachs. Conjuration is my favorite school, but most of the spells I use are atronach related. I don't much care for necromancy or bound weapons.
Especially when they start bashing people down with their daedric greatswords, or decapitating them.
I do however use bound weapons exclusively - I love using the bound bow to provide ranged fire support while my daedra are fighting.
Also love the fact that the bound weapons weigh nothing (more space for loot!), and that the infinite daedric arrows I shoot are not suddenly equipped by enemy archers.
So in the end, I'd have to say that bound bow (with mystic binding perk) is my top favorite - followed by Dremora Lords.

Re: Favorite/Best Conjuration Spell
I absolutely love the summon dremora lord spell. Nothing helps clear a room faster than two dremora lords with their daedric great swords. With that being said however, I also have never really done any necromancy so could be a bit biased.

Re: Favorite/Best Conjuration Spell
I've never gotten the appeal of bound weapons. But maybe that's just because I like smithing and enchanting so much. It makes my battlemage feel equal parts warrior and wizard, forging and sharpening these unparrelled blades, the enchanting them to make them even better through magic.
On a side note, I experimented with Ash Spawn and Seekers recently. It seems both spells are incompatable with Twin Souls, as trying to summon one cancelled the other. Anyone else had this problem, or is it just me?

twin souls only works for atronachs, dremora, and the familiar that i've seen.

Twin souls works for undead, too.
Re: Favorite/Best Conjuration Spell
The reanimation spells yes, but I'm not certain about soul cairn summons. I'm going with the assumption that if it's not a base game summon it wont benefit from twin souls.
I was hoping it'd stack with the necklace of the gargoyle so you get 4 as a vamp lord.

Re: Favorite/Best Conjuration Spell
Both of my characters have the twin soul perk and can summon/raise double of anything, including soul cairn summons. I don't always use two souls though, with followers and supreme Dohvakiin powers they are not always needed.

Well fortunately in this case, you are wrong, you can summon double soul carin summons.Yaije wrote:The reanimation spells yes, but I'm not certain about soul cairn summons. I'm going with the assumption that if it's not a base game summon it wont benefit from twin souls.

But other summons disapear when you activate vampire lord spells.
