Most recent thing in Skyrim I did was, scour Solstheim for a red Dunmer outfit without a hood that someone wasn't wearing. Alas, no luck. </3

Yeah, it would also be nice if there was an unenchanted version somewhere, they all have 75% magicka regen on them.

Re: The 'What You Did in Skyrim Today' Thread
Continued messing around with the Deadly Dragons mod and then continued with the Thieves Guild questline.
Apparently Karliah decided she didn't want to do what she was supposed to do during Trinity Restored. Again.
I tried the solutions that worked in the past, but nothing was helping. So I amused myself and stalked her outside, where we were attacked by a Magma Dragon. As a little bit of revenge, I let Karliah handled the Dragon on her own (the Guards nearby are totally useless; with Deadly Dragons, I've never seen Guards fall that fast). I forgot I was wearing Nightingale Armor though and got killed (three hits with vanilla settings on master difficulty). It was a little disappointing that I didn't get to see who won that battle.
I was very tempted to attack Karliah myself when the game reloaded, but I didn't. Instead, I just loaded the save I made near those lights and used the console to get past the bug.
Fortunately, nothing else is glitching. Yet. Kinda just waiting for the next one.

Re: The 'What You Did in Skyrim Today' Thread
Today, I decided that I have spent entirely too much time fast traveling of late. Not that I intend to just give it up completely. Its too useful when I've got quests to turn in. But there are many locations through out Skyrim that I still have not discovered, and a little time just going across the land is just what I need.
And its already paid off. While traveling across the Rift, I came across a run down shack with a pair of shady types hanging about. They inform me that there's skooma inside. I've never been one for Skooma (though I do occasionally use Moon Sugar for cooking and Alchemy). But I figured it might be a good oppertunity to gather some information to inform the Jarl. At least, assuming Maven isn't somehow in on this Skooma den, which you never can be too sure of with that one. There was the usual assortment inside, a noble with too much time and money to waste, and Imperial deserter, who being a loyal member of the imperial legion I had no sympathy for. But something wasn't quite right about this place, even for a Skooma den. And upon further inspection, I found the place was infact run by vampires who were feeding off the addicts. So, I decide to do my due dilegence as a member of the Dawnguard, and Serena, Lydia and I clear the place out, killing the vampires within. No need to trouble Jarl Maven with it after all.
After exiting, we traveled west for a bit. We had a bandit leader to kill in Bthalft. Found an Imperial Soldier fighting a Rift Guard. Knowing I couldn't help the Imperial Soldiers without being charged with a crime, I merely healed him until he bested the guard. Following aiding my fellow imperial soldier, I continued down the road, and was offered yet more Skooma by a Khajiit. I wasn't quite eager for more blood shed, but when I commented on the illegality of his wares, he became hostile. He was poorly armed against three who were quite heavily armed and an evil horse. Though in the rush to kill him, Lydia and Serena got into a little spat. Had to break it up with a Dual Cast Pacify spell. Then we proceeded to Bthalft to finally do the mission we'd set out to do.
I spent most of the day fighting with my sword and mace, rather than my spells. I have entirely too many Soul Gems built up in my inventory. Need to burn a few off. As I only use the Grand level souls for enchanting, I've put all of those away (though may have filled a few more grand souls up in empty gems as I've progressed), so I can use the rest freely as I go.

Re: The 'What You Did in Skyrim Today' Thread
After being gone for a couple weeks adventuring with Mjoll the Lioness, my elf spent a few lazy days home at Lakeview Manor. She started her day off feeding and dressing her daughters, put the dog outside to guard the livestock (bandits killed the last cow), baked lots of treats and her prize winning potato bread, made clam chowder and salmon steaks for the family, enjoyed listening to the new bard's lively tunes and watched her nanny Lydia get hammered on the job, practiced magic spells in the cellar, fought with the kids to do chores...literally asking Lucia 3 times to do chores and every single time the child flatly refused.
So she just let the kids do whatever they wanted since there was no point in fighting any further. Sylmirie's vegetables finally grew in the garden so she harvested those and now has a nice little pile of leeks, carrots and lavender to make horker stew with.
After playing loving housewife and mother, she read the kids their bedtime story...then headed across the street with Mjoll to Pinewatch to fill some black soul gems and send a Dohvakiin sweep through that nasty bandit camp as revenge for them killing her cow. On the list for tomorrow, crafting saber cat heads and enchanting weapons for her new bff.

Re: The 'What You Did in Skyrim Today' Thread
I finally completed the Dawnguard questline with From-Blackest-Reaches. For the first time.
Would've been the second, but the original's save went corrupt half way through the questline.
All that remains is to do the Daedric quests and get the last four perks in the Vampire Lord perk tree.
I also finally managed to create an exact duplicate of Vulom Staadnau.
There was some skin color issues to fix with the first one, so while I was in the race menu, I recorded the values of all the slides (available thanks to RaceMenu on the Nexus) in my notebook. Referring to those values allowed me to create the true Vulom.
And so she becomes the official third.
Oh, and while I was in the race menu with Vulom #2, I messed around with complexions and found an extra option at the end which gave her the full Vampire monster face. So I switched over to that one and now Vulom comes with the full, ugly glory of the other Vampires.
And then, as a sort of celebration (why? I dunno), I decided to... Run entirely naked around Whiterun. Sadly, the only person who commented on it was Amren. Clearly Vulom needs to find better streaking territory because Whiterun isn't impressed. Or disturbed. Or amused. Or... Anything, really.

Re: The 'What You Did in Skyrim Today' Thread
I spent all my play time traveling through the Forgotten Vale for the first time. That place is amazing.
Now that ElderStats has a journal feature, I've been doing my daily updates in there, with pictures too. I'm quite proud of it. I don't make the entries all that complicated - just notes of what I did mainly - but the pictures make it look nice.

Re: The 'What You Did in Skyrim Today' Thread
ElderStats has a journal feature now? Blast it, I need that.
Now I regret leaving. I'll have to log back in and repost my characters just so I can write journals for them: they need it.
I neglected to mention that my Skyrim was behaving oddly earlier.
During the course of the Dawnguard questline, Serana was being a murderous freak (seriously, she was killing everything that moved in front of her), and things were just generally chaotic. I had to reload more than once because things got out of control.
But at least I got it done.
Now... To go back onto Steam to get screenshots for my characters. It's time they return to Elder Stats. Who cares if they're voted legit or illegitimate?

Re: The 'What You Did in Skyrim Today' Thread
Journal entry?! Hmmm....guess I will be investigating that on Elder Stats now. Thank you for mentioning this, Alarra. Now I can geek out on my Altmer's baking obsession with pictures!
So after much ado, Sylmirie and Onmund decided to move their family to Solitude instead of Markarth. Vlindrell Hall is beautiful and has plenty of storage space, but Sylmirie likes to live the high life so Proudspire Manor it was. Then she didn't have to hear husband's worries over the Forsworn invading Markarth and kidnapping their daughters. He's such a fatalist sometimes.
Anyway, moving was a pain. The only thing is there is a glitch in my game where Proudspire Manor doesn't have a cooking pot. Sylmirie weighed this against not having an alchemy station in Markarth and decided she could just cook at the neighbor's. The family is much happier in Solitude except for the fact that the town kids don't play with her girls. Its a bit sad seeing Lucia and Sofie playing alone while the other kids play tag. Weird because in Markarth they always played with the kid there. It must just be that the Dohvakiin's kids are too bratty for their own good.

I finally finished the kitchen in my first Hearthfire house. Those damn goat horns can be hard to come by if you're committed to gathering building materials in the wild, rather than purchasing them. Goats are like cops, there's never one around when you really need one.
I still have to furnish the cellar, entrance hall and main hall, as well as building two more wings and furnishing them as well. This is going to take some time.

Yeah, I've just started doing Lakeview manor with my Khajiit - so far he's got the small layout done.

When I first got Hearthfire, I figured I'd have the entire building completed in two hours or so. After all, it's just a bunch of repetitive crafting, right? Man, was I ever wrong.

Yeah...
I think I'm going to stop at the small house layout...

Just bumped into Taron Dreth and his goons in the Silver-Blood Inn, fortunately the citizens of Markarth rushed to my aid, unfortunately, a few stray spells later and a full-blown tavern brawl broke out, the Wabbajack didn't help either, poor Vorstag ended up as a chicken.
A dog also caught me trying to break into the Jarl's quarters.

Re: The 'What You Did in Skyrim Today' Thread
Yeah...its no joke. In efforts to roleplay ie, realistically build Lakeview Manor for the elf and Windstad Manor for the Imperial...it took them about 20 something levels before they even came close to finishing the houses completely. So in between adventuring to make more money for building materials, mining, selling crap, sleeping, eating and taking care of the brats--err kids--it was exhausting.Evil-i wrote:When I first got Hearthfire, I figured I'd have the entire building completed in two hours or so. After all, it's just a bunch of repetitive crafting, right? Man, was I ever wrong.
And just as the Altmer finished her house and got all the goodies...she decided to move the family to Solitude for the winter. After all that hard work....

Re: The 'What You Did in Skyrim Today' Thread
I loaded up From-Blackest-Reaches again and began to focus on getting those last few Vampire Lord perks. Apparently I only needed to get three rather than the four I thought it was.
So to do that, I went on a killing spree. Started at Stonehills, then made my way through Mzinchaleft and Blackreach. Ended when I exited from the Tower of Mzark with all the Vampire Lord perks.
Then I decided to murder a select few people in Windhelm. Five. Maybe.
And, while I was at it, I robbed them.
It was a good day, even though I only had two hours to play.

Let's see... In the wee hours of the morning today, I deleted all of my characters (again, lol) and started my original character--a Nord warrior named Anika Solheim--back up. She's much more fun to play with Auto Perk Stats Level installed. I didn't have it when Skyrim first came out because ScriptDragon wasn't compatible with the 64-bit version of Windows XP. Definitely one of my favorite mods now. Anyway, Anika joined the Companions and did a number of the little miscellaneous quests in Whiterun before I got too tired to play.

I started over, from the very beginning. I've had an impossible time getting into Skyrim, unlike my experiences with my other TES games, so I'm hoping my current character takes care of that and I can stay on track. It will be a great deal of fun to play through on my new desktop, however; no performance issues whatsoever and lots of pretty details. Oh yeah. Here I come, Skyrim.

Re: The 'What You Did in Skyrim Today' Thread
I tried to go through all the Daedric quests, but my computer was being really annoying today. It kept crashing every few minutes and several of those crashes were caused by Microsoft Visual errors. Again.
*sigh*
So I did what I could. I barely managed to do Boethiah's Daedric quest (severe lag around Knifepoint Ridge for some reason; got severe enough that my computer decided to try and got screen saver mod), though Waking Nightmare in Dawnstar went significantly better than usual.
Even managed to build Heljarchen Hall.
Left off in Morthal so I could do Laid to Rest and build Winstad Manor.
Assuming my computer cooperates. If not, then I'll go to Oblivion for a while.

Windstad Manor is the best house location in the game hands down. I love that marsh.

Re: The 'What You Did in Skyrim Today' Thread
Had a blast over the weekend with my Breton witch, Sylvaine Emrys. She had been adventuring around Whiterun rather aimlessly for a while when destiny in the shape of Sam Guevenne and a few too many intervened and dropped her in Markarth with a royal hangover and some holes in her memory. Considering her descent* and her affinity for dark arts of an archaic, low-tech kind it was only a matter of time till she joined the Forsworn (using Kingdom of Forsworn and Forsworn Faction Pack), and escaping Cidhna Mina with Madanach and company felt like coming home.
*(As far as I've been able to reconstruct her lineage up to now she's the daughter of a High Rock Breton and a Reachwoman. Bothela of Hag Cures is her maternal grand aunt, which makes Odvan of Druadach Redoubt (formerly Cidhna Mine) her cousin.)
She has also taken a fancy to Cosnach and convinced him to support The Cause of the People (i.e. be her follower; future marriage not excluded). After discarding his cheap hide and iron mace, decking him out in steel plate and giving him the Mace of Molag Bal they set forth to retrieve Lisbet's statue of Dibella from Sylvaine's friends at Serpent's Bluff Redoubt (for, you know, Sylvaine is also good friends with Lisbet; they dine together occasionally
). At Old Hroldan they met five or so Markarth guards with a Forsworn prisoner and were about to free him when Skyrim Immersive Creatures decided to spawn a Perfect Blood Hybrid right around the corner (that's a crossbreed of werewolf and vampire lord to you and me, and a pain to kill). The resulting three-way fight was one of the crazier and more memorable moments in my Skyrim playing history. Sadly, the prisoner didn't survive, but neither did the guards and the hybrid.

Re: The 'What You Did in Skyrim Today' Thread
It took great self-restraint not to name my new Altmer Orgasmo, Sanyo, or Sterno. I don't have any vampires yet and I'd like to play the other side of Dawnguard, so this guy will be receiving a Harkon Hickey eventually. He'll also look great in Thalmor robes. I spent a few minutes browsing around for a spouse for him, but there aren't enough elven women in the game...
I also did the Companions questline again. As always, I just wasn't feeling it. But now I have several more potential followers and I've come to like some of the heavy armor sets, before I only liked the looks of robes and light armors. Think I'm going to cure my lycanthropy, though. That character has also taken a fancy to Gwilin and has started leaving gifts in his room at Vilemyr Inn, but fears Gwilin's possible reaction to his shapeshifting if he were honest about being a werewolf. You know Bosmer.

I did a couple of Daedric quests with From-Blackest-Reaches, then loaded Vulom III and started working on her.
I've got her armor set up and now she's ready to begin dungeon diving.
From-Blackest-Reaches, on the other hand, still has several Daedric quests to go. 9, I think. But I could be wrong.
