Rhodes smiled. "I'll show you in a bit." said Rhodes.

More than half a dozen well armed men and women sent in to possibly strong arm a civilian. Something didn't add up but Jim knew better than to press the issue. "Sir, no sir. Sorry for speaking out of line." He replied firmly.

A lanky but suave Italian man adjusted his position slightly, and took a few moments to get the courage to ask the following question. He put his skinny hand through his light and clean cut brown hair, "Well, payment. Do we get any benefits for doing these tasks?" he asked in a soothing type voice.

Jon twitched out of a cold doze, hearing only snippets of what Rhodes had said. "Where exactly does a truck driver find an alien on the ground...? Don't you think it's a bit suspicious he just has one with him?" He paused for a moment, looking at the others as if he had realized a key point. "Hell, if someone knows how to take these ships down, I think we should figure out where they are."

Chop smurked and sat up from his previously slouched position in the corner. "You little kiddos really do believe in all this alien stuff don't you?" he asked glaring at Rhodes with a smug smile on his face "This 'alien' is probably the truck drivers own inbred daughter."

[Kerr]

An engineer opened the door behind the group. She was in her late 20's with medium brown hair wearing grey overalls that had PDA written on the back. She waited for Rhodes to finish speaking. "Those are the kinds of things I suspect you'll want to ask the driver. Above all find out where he got it and where he was bringing it." said Rhodes. He just ignored the Italian's question and focused his attention on Chops. "You do realise who you joined right? Now unless you want to go down to sick bay with my boot stuck up your ass you'll stay quiet. Understand?" He pointed at the engineer. "Corporal Anders will take you to your transport when you are ready. Any last questions before you head out?"

Nancy looked at the woman with some interest. She hadn't ever heard of a female engineer before. She hadn't heard of a female soldier before either, but there she sat. This must be a pretty progressive group, she thought.

"Do you expect that we'll have to use the guns?" she asked timidly.

[Kerr]

"You might. Whoever wanted the alien could come looking for it. Doubt they'd just give it up." said Rhodes.

Shifting in his seat, Jon seemed to become uncomfortable for no reason at all. He rotated his head in an effort to crack his neck. Now what the hell would anyone want with an alien... He thought to himself carefully, fidgeting and twitching occasionally. Suddenly, he calmed, drifted back into the chair comfortably. "Perhaps the ones who want it want the aliens' weapons... It could be the Russians for all we know! What are we waiting for, if they want what those aliens have, we can't just wait here like sitting ducks until they get what they want."

[Kerr]

"Alright, then stop sitting there and follow Anders to the transport." said Rhodes. Anders was still standing in the doorway waiting for them.

Nancy stood slowly and walked toward the door, not knowing what was in store for them, but not wanting to be sitting so close to the rough-looking men any more.

Sid got up and went over towards Anders as well. He hoped that this mission would go smoothly, but he couldn't shake the feeling of butterflies in his stomach.

Standing up slowly, Jon stretched and proceeded toward the door sheepishly, feeling as though he had offended Rhodes in some way. He adjusted the loose arms on the armor to fit him more comfortably, still avoiding eye contact with Anders or Rhodes. There was a faint itch in his mind from his street days to kill again. Disturbed by the instance, he cracked his neck again and shook off the itch.

Sam got up and began to follow the female engineer out to their transport. He stayed close to the other white, male soldiers as he walked.

Jim hesitates for a moment before he gets up and heads for the door. He still feels a bit uneasy at the moment.

Kathleen followed as well, giving Nancy a small, reassuring smile. The girl seemed timid, even for a young housewife. To be honest, she sympathized with her: she was quite uncomfortable in the uniform she had been given. . . the design was just like those of the men, but it was for a woman. How strange. She had expected a secretary or assistant position here, not a field one. Perhaps she was meant to be a nurse? Time would tell, but judging by the female engineer, Kathy wasn't so sure.

Anders led the group down the hallway to the hanger. There were a number of engineers working on cars, jeeps and tanks. However that wasn't what would catch the attention of the new recruits. In the middle of the small metal hangar was their transport. "Meet The VTOL. Pride of the PDA." said Anders. "So can any of you fly or will we need to get a pilot?"

"Oh my," Nancy said, her breath catching in her throat as she saw the machine. Her left hand immediately went to cover her open mouth.

An alarm began to ring out. The blast door that was on the ceiling began to open revealing the clear blue sky above.

"Canadian Forces gave me some flight training before they sent me up here," Jim said as he eyed the VTOL and then whistled. "Beautiful craft you have here. I'd be more than happy to pilot her. Anything special I should know about her?"

Somewhat irritated with the neglect of his question, Sal followed the others, being the furthest back in the crowd. He was also frustrated with the way the tight armor fit him, wanting to go back to wearing a normal suit, and wishing he had thought about the variable of medium of light armor.

He gave out an astonished whistle when he saw the helicopter, “Is that going to fit all of us?” he asked himself. As the ceiling opened up, he squinted in a disgusted manner, using his eyebrows to shield his eyes from the natural light.

"I stole a helicopter, once." Jaime contributed. "I almost crashed, but I managed to avoid getting shot out of the sky. Eh... better let someone else pilot this thing."

Kathy's eyes widened at Jaime's contribution. "You stole a . . . " she was about to continue, but abruptly stopped. She didn't want to upset the man.

[Arch-Mage Matt]

"Helicopter, yes." Jaime confirmed. "One of Batista's helicopters, in Cuba. Not here."

Anders walked up behind the VTOL and pressed a button to open the door on the back. The door opened and made a walkway to allow them to board. "Seats 20, fast, reliable, the best thing we have. Has machine guns and missiles on the front in case you run into something nasty while you're in the sky. Try to take her back in one piece. She cost a lot of countries a lot of taxpayer money." boasted Anders.
