Yes and no. Wish it came in different colors and I don't like the hood as much as the other that covers half your face.

Re: Coolest looking armor.
My light armor favorite is the fur type. It looks more feminine than the others, plus its warm for an environment like Skyrim's. The lighter the armor, the better. For heavy types, I really like the look of Dragonscale. But since PC doesn't have Dragonborn yet, I will have to wait and see what the new armors look like.

Re: Coolest looking armor.
I'd always imagined Dragonscale to be just as warm if not warmer than fur armor

Yeah, but it doesn't look as sexy and lithe. Important for an assassin who doesn't even want to wear armor in the first place.

true, but when you look at female armor what's the first part a male human normally looks at? I like the way the cuirass shows off a little without compromising armor integrity. When I see fur armor, I imagine an axe slicing through it like a hot knife through butter

Re: Coolest looking armor.
Dragonscale looks awful on Khajiits and Argonians.
It's the clipping issues. Khajiits have huge holes in their heads and helmets where their ears should be, and for Argonians, the back of the helmets won't even show up. Hence why most of my Beast Race characters don't wear any sort of helmet.
As for what armors I find the coolest, I've always preferred Nightingale, even though I'm currently using the Nightingale Prime HD Leather texture for it.
Fur armor isn't bad either. Elven is good, too (but only if it's got the darker aMidianBorn texture).
Out of the heavy armors, I prefer Daedric. Especially like the clawed look of the gauntlets on a Battlemage type character. Something about the way fire, frost, and shock spells seem to curl around the fingers. I'm not really a heavy armor sort of person.

Re: Coolest looking armor.
Yeah, I mostly use dunmer or nords and had one breton, orc, bosmer, and high elf. But I've never actually had to motivation to stick to a beast race character because when I play a Khajiit I keep singing the thundercats theme song. And when I play argonians I always run around eating human flesh and killing unarmed human NPC's for no reason.

Re: Coolest looking armor.
Especially the version of fur "armour" which is basically a bra and skirt, I mean who thought that was a good idea really. Same with the forsworn "armour", if you could call it armour, barely even covers the bits it does cover...Derp53 wrote:true, but when you look at female armor what's the first part a male human normally looks at? Dragonscale/plate and daedric have a certain sense of occaision with them, that I can't quite describe. A sort of feeling of the enemy is already thinking "Oh shi..." before anything happens, not to mention just how badass daedric looks, especially in darkness with the blood red highlights.

Oh yeah, not to mention they both show off the female form a bit without being a bikini or nightgown made of animal skinCBR JGWRR wrote:Especially the version of fur "armour" which is basically a bra and skirt, I mean who thought that was a good idea really. Whenever I see a female nord or dunmer wearing Saviors hide I always imagine something something R rated in content, I can't help it though, it literally looks like a furry corset

That's weird, 'cause all female models are basically the same.

The worst kind of armor is definitely the Forsworn. How that can even qualify as protective is beyond me.

Re: Coolest looking armor.
I know, but I can't help but imagine dunmer to be more slender and nords a little larger in size and when you combine that with what is basically is a furry corset and a fur bikini and a 17 year old mind that's tossed decency aside......

Re: Coolest looking armor.
Not convinced on Dragonscale on the showing off feminine beauty bit, it makes my Altmer look like she has practically nothing up top, (In it's defence, she would probably find a B-cup too big, but that's not the point...) but daedric looks rather good, flatters her body nicely, if a bit bulky shoulder protection. And the helmet having different sized horns on it. T'isn't right...Derp53 wrote:Oh yeah, not to mention they both show off the female form a bit without being a bikini or nightgown made of animal skinCBR JGWRR wrote:Especially the version of fur "armour" which is basically a bra and skirt, I mean who thought that was a good idea really. In a way forsworn "armour" could at least qualify as protective gear, since no normal bloke wouldn't stop to have a... an admiring look at a woman wearing it.

Re: Coolest looking armor.
Thanks I guess, she is pretty much altmer female preset 1 with minor changes to jaw width and cheekbone width, possibly eyes as well and most noticeably hair colour. 2-3 minute job to replicate her.
Mostly back on topic, the great thing about Skyrim is the numeric differences of quality, weight and to a certain extent the ease or otherwise of sourcing the various armours don't actually matter except for a mid levels character, so you may as well base the choice of armour purely on what you like/want starting from level 1 - all armours can get to the max level (some with more difficulty than others admittedly) and with the conditioning and unhindered perks, or the steed stone, the weight of the armour doesn't matter, which means whether the character wears fur or dragonscale, iron or daedric, it doesn't matter. Which is actually both quite suprising, and yet quite expectable from a game like Skyrim.

^exactly, I NEVER pick armor just for it's armor rating, just what appeals to me more. If it has high armor and enchantments, doesn't hurt.

Re: Coolest looking armor.
There are times when picking on basis of stats could be useful - if you don't have the carry weight reducing options, then elven armour, being the lightest in the game at 7 carry weight for a set without shield, is obviously a good choice for example.

With both armors at lvl100 for me, and the use of the Lord Stone, it's pretty much all about looks for me--roleplaying, especially.
