Coolest looking armor.
Which armor type (not modded, can include unique armors such as Nightingale or Deathbrand) do you guys think looks the coolest in a set. I haven't completely decided, my opinions change, but I like Orcish, Steel Plate, and now Stahlrim armors. Discuss.
Long has the Stormcrown languished, with no worthy brow to sit upon.

Nordic Carved. Light Stalhrim with A. Crown from dawnguard. Royal vampire. I would say thieves guild or grandmasters but the shoulder pads throw it off for me and the vampire hood glitch.

I like to use nordic carved gear and replace the helmet with the ancient helmet of the unburned. I has a warlord look to it

I have to say either Dragonplate or Daedric. Dragonplate, because there's just something cool about walking around wearing the bones of dragons I've slain. And Daedric looks intimidating. And is kinda sexy on females.
I'll give a nod to Ebony for a runner up.
I wear Dragonplate myself, put my wife in Daedric, and any heavy armor minions like my housecarls get Ebony.

Re: Coolest looking armor.
Generally, I like full Ebony, full Bonemold, and full Dragonbone the most.
But, When I start a new character I like Banded Iron Cuirass, Ancient Nord Helm and Boots, and Nordic Steel Gauntlets, and I keep that set for as long as I can manage. Just looks awesome to me.

Re: Coolest looking armor.
ugh its so hard to choose! I can bring em all down to my top 5 favorites:
1. Fur armour
2. Steel plate
3. Carved Nordic
4. Stahlrim
5. Bonemold
I like the armours that are more Vikingish, tribal and old styled. Not alot of the glass, dwarven and elven sets for me.

I like the nightingale, stalhrim light or heavy, thieves guild, Nordic carved, and ancient falmer. Elven and glass are alright to.
Re: Coolest looking armor.
I can't decide really. I got some single pieces I like to mix and match. Like:
-vampire gloves and boots
-clawed stormcloak gloves
-alik'r hood
-shourded hood
-heavy chitin gloves (got a thing for claws)
chest pieces are the hardest to decide on. I just wish I could get an unenchanted set of thieve's guild armor personally.

Re: Coolest looking armor.
I absolutely love the set of full Fur armour, on both sexes.
1. Fur with shoes (female) or boots (male) and bracers
2. Light Chitin (without the helmet, with leather boots and clothing-type leather gloves)
3. Thieves Guild (with leather boots and clothing-type leather gloves)

I really like Ebony. That is my favorite heavy armor. For light, probably Nightingale. Basically both these armor that look really dark, like heroes who can be bad.

Re: Coolest looking armor.
For me, in order of pure-looks (my character is a male Nord Vampire (so glowing reddish eyes), and I made him as large as possible w/ long hair, light goatee, and bear-claw tattoo--thought I'd mention this to help clarify why these armors are my favorite):
--Glass (which I'm currently using)
--Deathbrand (Dragonborn)
--Nightingale
--Skaal Armor (less the hat) (Dragonborn)
--Nordic Carved (Dragonborn)
--Dragonplate
--Vampire Royal (Dawnguard)
--Blades
--Steel Plate
--Wolf Armor
--Stormcloak Officer
--Imperial Heavy (w/ Imperial Helmet-Full Faceplate)
--Ancient Falmer (Dawnguard)
--Glass (which I'm currently using)
--Deathbrand (Dragonborn)
--Nightingale
--Skaal Armor (less the hat) (Dragonborn)
--Nordic Carved (Dragonborn)
--Dragonplate
--Vampire Royal (Dawnguard)
--Blades
--Steel Plate
--Wolf Armor
--Stormcloak Officer
--Imperial Heavy (w/ Imperial Helmet-Full Faceplate)
--Ancient Falmer (Dawnguard)

Re: Coolest looking armor.
I like the Nord Hero stuff, especially with Yngol's Helm, as far as pure looks go.
The Deathbrand set from Dragonborn looks pretty cool, too.

Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.
Re: Coolest looking armor.
Aela's armour looks the coolest. Personally, I use the best light armour I can find or craft until my light armour is high enough to enable me to choose what I want to wear without worrying then I go with Morag Tong armour, boots, gauntlets and Krosis.

Nightingale Armor or Vampire Lord armor (Serana makes it work)

Re: Coolest looking armor.
I don't have Dragonborn yet, so I can't speak for that, but so far my favorites are Elven, Daedric, and Dawnguard armor.
As far as my followers, I just dress them in whatever I think looks best on them. I had Faendal in Leather armor, Erandur in Elven, Kharjo I just kept in Steel, and I have Farkas in Wolf armor.

Re: Coolest looking armor.
On my warrior it is probably Ebony (although I don't really like the helmet) or Legion Armor with the "nearly artifact legion helmet"^^.
My mage prefers Alik'r Hood, Master Destruction Robes and Thalmor Boots + Gloves.

I keep Erandur in his robes. I think they suit him more than any armor.Alarra wrote:I don't have Dragonborn yet, so I can't speak for that, but so far my favorites are Elven, Daedric, and Dawnguard armor.

Orcish, Dragonscale with Stormcloak Officer Helm, Elven with Thieves Guild Hood, Ebony
Re: Coolest looking armor.
many of the armors in skyrim look really bad imo. I think my favourite is perhaps Plated Steel, that bear stormcloak hat or iron armor.
Re: Coolest looking armor.
I mean bad as in they look really blocky and too much square sometimes.
