Mankar Camoran VS Mannimarco
Who was more powerful? Mankar Camoran or Mannimarco? I don't know if any of you remember this, but Mannimarco was displayed in Daggerfall also. In all your knowledge about the two, even in battle experiences with the both of them, who was more powerful? I remember the first time I played Oblivion on a full play through I had some trouble with Mankar Camoran. Mannimarco for me wasn't that hard because if anyone is experienced in this they will know that the key to fighting Necromancers and Conjurers is to go after the Necromancer first. However the thing with Necromancy is sometimes they create Zombies, Wraiths, Ghosts, Skeletons, etc. that are permanent, but the concept still applies because the chances are the Necromancer is the most powerful thing there in the battle.
So who is it. Who is more powerful. If the two had to fight, who would win?
Second question, which cult was more powerful? Mythic Dawn or the Order of the Worm?

Re: Mankar Camoran VS Mannimarco
Moved this to TES General since it doesn't really deal with the game Oblivion itself. I'll let it stay open, but I'm not sure how much real discussion can be had over conjecture.

I killed Mannimarco with one blast of a lightning staff. Says it all really.

And yet he destroyed the Septim Dynasty, weakening the Empire enough for the Thalmor to move in and outlaw Talos worship, leading to the events of Skyrim's civil war.Mucro wrote:I killed Mannimarco with one blast of a lightning staff. Says it all really.
Also, he apparently made himself a Dragonborn just because he wanted to, according to his Commentaries.
Mannimarco on the other hand nearly conquered all of Nirn in the 2nd Era (see - the plot of Elder Scrolls Online), and made himself an actual god at the end of Daggerfall.
I'd say lore wise they're about equal, but both thankfully dead.... ish.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

Just thought I'd point out that:Pilaf The Defiler wrote:"Hortator and Sharmat, one and one, eleven, an inelegant number. Which of the ones is the more important? a) There's no notice of editing for either of your two's posts
and
b) Your own quote of him said Mannimarco
So...
Anyhow, OP: (Another "who would win") From what we know, Mannimarco commanded an army of the (un)dead, while Camoran commanded any army of immortals. That's enough, in itself, but then you add in their "accomplishments": Mannimarco razed one city and (likely) a number villages/settlements on his way to Iliac Bay; Camoran helped lead to the re-sacking of that same city, but also helped see the entirety of Tamriel into disarray, facilitated the collapse of such monuments as the Crystal Tower (Alinor), eliminated almost the entire Septim line (which let to the extinguishing of the Dragonfires), and ultimately helped change the entire political/physical landscape of Tamriel for a long time (if not forever).

Re: Mankar Camoran VS Mannimarco
I'm never wrong and I never lose, because even when I'm wrong I learn from it and become stronger. That's my convoluted philosophy.
In the end, both these figures changed the landscape and both these figures have disappeared from the stage of history.
"Who would win" is kind of...meh... it's sort of a comic bookstore nerd debate, really. It's not so much a DBZ "power levels" type thing. At the end of the day they both lost...sort of. And they both won...sort of. But they were never directly one another's enemy and in fact would probably choose to aid one another.

Re: Mankar Camoran VS Mannimarco
I could see Mannimarco fighting against Mankar Camoran. Call me crazy, but if Mehrunes Dagon rules over, and eventually destroys Tamriel/Nirn, then Mannimarco cannot continue collecting souls of powerful individuals and performing his his necromantic acts. But the Mannimarco in Oblivion is, in my opinion, not the actual Mannimarco, and more of a physical representation, or a simple servant of his. Because at the end of Daggerfall he became a god, ascending from the mortal plane.

Akatosh took his godhood away. He is, however, still very powerful.

Re: Mankar Camoran VS Mannimarco
Well in a one on one fight Mannimarco would win in my opinion because he has magic what does Camoran have, a large stick that shoots bolts of lightning which Mannimarco can deflect with magic or just plain take Camoran's soul.

Re: Mankar Camoran VS Mannimarco
if it was a one on one fight ? Mankar Camoran
but this is from what i've seen in game
we witnessed Mannimarco make a small army of Undead and necromancers .. but in the fight he wasnt that spectacular ..then again, he Paralyzes us, and then release again, and we were shielded ..so maybe under different circumstances he would win
Mankar was able to hold together his own miniature plane of Oblivion and put up quite a fight at the same time , so you cant say hes weak

Re: Mankar Camoran VS Mannimarco
Mankar Camoran, it was quite pathetic watching the most powerful necromancer in existence charge at me with a tiny butter knife because I used Silence on him.
Speak, if you have aught to say worth the listening.

Re: Mankar Camoran VS Mannimarco
Whilst Mankar managed to weaken the empire which had not been weakened since the days of Tiber, Mannimarco is regarded as the king of Necromancy and is able to avoid death or it is implied he can avoid death. Although he was a disappointment in Oblivion, he would have had a very long battle with the new arch mage in lore due to both being very powerful. At least, i like to think they both had an epic magical duel that lasted for hours before the Archmage managed to kill him or at least banish him from Mundus thus he is slowly regaining his power as we speak. He would have turned us into a thrall had it not been for Traven.
Mankar used Daedric magic to create his own realm which was most likely taught to him by Dagon but was no match for the COC who cut him down in his realm before leaving it to literally crumble.
I suspect the King of Worms will make a return in the next game but will be very powerful and may even use his Daggerfall appearance or they will base him on his Daggerfall appearance and modify the look. Such as his skull is cracked and he possess's several scars from his battle with the Archmage 200 years before.

I can't discuss this because it isn't really comparable.

Mannimarco all the way. Mannimarco imo did more impressive things in his lifetime(s) than Camoran.
