loan

Post by jygglag »

Some website said that the actual amount you can loan is depend on your regional reputation, and I have seen a video in youtube that he can't actually borrow 900000 gold. I suspect that the 1100000 gold limit is not always correct, but I don't have the game myself, can anyone check that for me?

Well, after reading your post, i went on some field research.
I chose Daggerfall city bank, for the experiment. I used my two current characters; One, a level 2 Nord, first time on town, low mercantile. The second character was a level 8 Bosmer, few visits to this town, medium mercantile. none of them had a reputation higher or lower than common citizen.
When i tried to loan the 1,100,000, with both characters, a message appeared, the Bosmer's max credit was that of 400,000, while the nord's was of only 100,000.
My deduction is that even if reputation might have a part on your max loan, it is not all involved, as it might be player level, mercantile level, AND reputation.
Hope I helped you.

Thank's for your help, Werozzi. So, it seems that mercantile seems to be a important factor. In your experiment, the importance of regional reputation is not shown. Level and mercantile may be a factor, but the information is not enough. I doubt race is a factor, but more experiment need to be carry out or someone need to look into to the construction set.

Actually, there is no DF cs, so the best approach might be experience.
Yes, i agree with race not being a factor, i'll try to do more experimenting on the subject.
