Re: The Official TES VI Wishlist thread
Because the next-gen consoles are reported to be eight times more powerfull than the current-gen consoles I would be extremely surprised and dissapointed if Bethesda didn't add more NPC's to their citits, just to make it feel like people are actually living there. Even if they just provide visula flavour, they wouldn't have to have quests or anything to do with them. Just being there to add atmosphere.

I'm hoping the next game will be set in Alinor (Summerset Isle). It's seems like they have been building up too much not to. Especially with the Thalmor and Aldmeri Dominion gaining so much power.
Other than that I would really like to see an optional hardcore mode. I would also like to see a Bosmer transform into their supernatural beast form. Not really high on my wish list but it would be cool to see.

Since their animal forms end in their own deaths, it won't happen.

Yes...I want Summerset too...more elven stuff, in Skyrim we had Ysgramor etc...who are elven killers, now I want more magical artifacts, like Ayleid stones etc..and a Psiijic Questline would be fun..
Also more spells, more Daedras (where's my beloved Daedroth)...,
and please, more tolerance between people...

Re: The Official TES VI Wishlist thread
One thing they took out that I hope is in the next game is staff crafting. They could have expanded on it so much more than they did in oblivion.
Honestly they could put it in a DLC for Skyrim. Who wouldn't love chopping some wood and collecting a skeleton skull to put at the end of your staff.

Re: The Official TES VI Wishlist thread
Would love to see the next ES game on another continent! Preferably the cluster of islands to the west of tamriel (I remember seeing them on a map, can't remember the name) - they're colonised by redguards as far as I know.
It would make for a much needed (imo) change in scenery, as well as game style overall, with the potential of it being largely ocean-ship-voyage-big-adventure based. I feel like there is potential for epic voyages etc in the other games but locations are too easy to get to. Most of the places you spend time in are within pretty easy running distance of the major cities, let alone horses and ofc fast-travel (not sure about morrowind).
Starting as a stowaway or w/e on a ship (to keep the 'starting out at absolute rock-bottom theme' going) and eventually building your way up to own your own ship would make for an interesting change for ES games. This also leaves open totally new opportunities for game-style such as being some kind of rare-materials merchant and trading between islands, forming allegiances, maybe the occasional ship battle. Also the developers could get creative with creature design with the potential for sea monsters and whatnot. Considering ocean travel, ships, sea monsters are such a massive part of norse mythology in general, I'd think a game in this style would be rather fitting.
Don't think I've ever played a game largely based at sea - only similar kind of thing I can recall is that single mission in an assassins creed game.
Anyway all that is just about the setting lol. as far as gameplay goes: less bugs, more quests, more opportunities, more stuff to do in general. The usual stuff.

Re: The Official TES VI Wishlist thread
On second thought, something I'd regard as most important would be the ability to go from one room to the next without having to load the room you're going into i.e. the entire game world is simply one huge world with swinging doors instead of 'new room' buttons etc. Not being able to look in and out of windows annoys me quite a lot, as well as the load times obv.

Re: The Official TES VI Wishlist thread
That would be so much more realistic if there were no loading screens between doors into houses and caves and such. But I don't know if the system could support that. I would rather they keep it how it is so the game runs smoothly rather than having low FPS and lag because the game is loading areas I'm not even using in the background.

Re: The Official TES VI Wishlist thread
Wasn't skyrim built with like a six year old engine or something? Maybe if they completely construct VI from the ground up with a new engine etc they could do it without creating more bugs (maybe even avoiding a fair few). GTA 4 did it, and it didn't have NEARLY as many bugs as the ES games. Only ones I remember encountering in that game were physics-related bugs. Missions never went wrong and the game only froze once or twice after I'd accidentally left the ps3 on overnight.
Also, assuming ES VI will be here in 3-4 years which is most likely true, we could have much more powerful hardware by then. I highly doubt we will be playing the next ES on a ps3 or xbox 360.

Re: The Official TES VI Wishlist thread
Of course we won't be playong TES VI on PS3 and 360. the next generation consoles will be released in around a year. But loading a whole world the size of skyrim or larger and sustaining it constantly would put a strain on any machine.

Re: The Official TES VI Wishlist thread
Yeah it would, but with skyrim most of the feezes etc that I encounter are when the game is loading something. If they could pull it off they would be avoiding a great deal of bugs I think

I'd like an arcehology guild. You had to go to cool places and eventually you'd find some old tomb or artifact hidden behind some tricky puzzle or hordes of undead. Lore junkies would get to read about some historical items for the province in particular and the quests would be varied and interesting. Just something I thought of today.

a dwemer 'time team' like cult or university trying to rediscover ancient civilisations
and speaking of AC again.. i'd like to see levitation back, or at least a mechanic for upwards movement - maybe both. For instance, you might have a grapple and rope or spider climb like abilities/spells and levitation (and line of sight teleportation?). This would make dungeon design less linear - i like what they have done to Skyrim but tbh there is little atmosphere in a location where you know after the boss fight and treasure room there will be a secret passage up to the entrance. I loved the morrowind caves where it was difficult and dangerous exploring, even if you didnt find a monster trying to eat you you might get lost or find yourself in a narrow dark place where the only way forward is to dive into the freezing waters ahead.. that was a huge part of the Mw atmosphere for me, and probably what i miss most in Ob and Sk.. playing in solstheim reminded me about this

Give me Black Marsh or Elsweyr, although I'd bet it will be in Alinor.
Bring back spears, throwing weapons, and staffs that you can hit with.
Bring back both the unarmed and unarmored skills.
Some spells I'd like to see back: Jump, Levitate, Lock, Open, Slowfall, Blind, Silence, Mark, Recall.
Of course, whatever they make, I'm sure I'll love. I always do.

Perhaps like a side questline to the Mage's Guild story.

Give us more physics!
I wish few things more than seeing a dark brotherhood assassin riding his horse in the Alik'r/Valenwood, while his dreadlocks fly along with his cape as he goes by.
Also contextual deaths, using the environment for your advantage in killing moves. That plus dishonored style stealth, with aereals, would be great!
Weapon/Armour customization would also be genius, like the ability to dye your stuff, or even add more to it, spikes to swords, studs to armor, even having a face paint customization.
Also, more complex guilds, with expanded ranks and more quests.
Player housing building.
Attributes back.
All morrowind spell effects and other more.
Better enchantment/Alchemy system.
Spellmaking.
Chariots.
Item damage/repair.

Tool use - I want to be able to dig a hole, chop down a tree, fish etc.
Climb - trees, ladders, fences.
Destroyable buildings - Who wouldn't like to burn down a few houses.
Wandering for hours without seeing anything happen is ok but Bethesda need to make the world smaller and put more into it, more immersion not more space.

^ Imo the space makes it more immersive...
Re: The Official TES VI Wishlist thread
I wonder how much content was cut out for all the graphics they needed.
TES VI - needs less aggressive wildlife (I'm so tired of psycho bears with the perception of an eagle and speed of a diving falcon) and more herbivores and domesticated animals & lose the singing Nirn Root, singing plants this ain't Disney World.
