In my opinion we posses all the land. Our arcane roots spread throughout Morrowind. We understand the ethereal and we are at one with all nature. We seek betterment not in the attainment of land, but in the attainment of knowledge. In this fact, we will always be the true heirs of Vvardenfel

I know that you were speaking figuratively, but I did read a theory which proposed that the Telvanni Towers were just the observable above ground segment of a much larger fungal construct, much in the same way an iceberg is mostly submerged. I don't know if we can give much, if any, weight to such a postulation, but it's a fun little idea.yagelazy wrote:In my opinion we posses all the land. Our arcane roots spread throughout Morrowind. actually, the Telvanni Council House in Sadrith Mora and Tower at Tel Uvirith with their expansive subterranian areas support this theory quite well

Re: Great House Telvanni (Club/Faction)
True, but only on a small scale. There's no sign of any tunnels or the like that connect any of the different towers. I would take the existence of subterranean levels of Telvanni towers in-game as evidence to suggest that the theory was plausible, but not necessarily that it was probable or to support the theory, per se, but that's just my thinking on the matter.

Yes, but once you exit the bounds of the cell you just get nothingness. So if Bethesda didn't put anything there, there is literally nothing there.
Re: Re: Great House Telvanni (Club/Faction)
Yeah, I'm a Telvanni (Master) I'd be a Magister except I elected not to kill our current leader.
Once I rose to the highest rank in the Mage Guild, I joined the Telvanni and chose Aryon as my Patron.
Finally got my own stronghold and man is that cool. Had all these plans to redecorate the place, but decided not to change a thing.
There is a dead guy in the basement though? Not sure how he got there. I hope he wasn't used as fertilizer, (that whole Indian dead fish buried with a corn seed thing).
And I agree with the subterranean labyrinth theory.
It seems these mushrooms are planted along side of giant crystals which somehow regulate the growth and design of the structure. At the bottom most levels of the dungeon (in mine anyway) is a lava pit from which I assume the building draws its power.
Over time, once these lava chambers cool and solidify, it is possible they form a network of tunnels connecting the homesteads together.
Very ingenious of our Telvanni ancestors.

Re: Re: Great House Telvanni (Club/Faction)
Man this is making me want to play Morrowind again, I just recently installed the MGSO overhall too! Telvanni are clearly the best great house I loved the wizards towers, I remember it was so cool the first time I found a Telvanni city I couldn't see any of the wizards since I had no levitation spells. I had to sell some crap so I could by a potion just to talk to the damn guys and then hunt heaps of cliff racers for their talons so i could use alchemy to make potions and fly around the towers. If you kill someone then clearly your argument has more merit than theirs - best TES politics ever. When I joined Telvanni I was pretty much a straight out melee character and it was so hard to work up the skills to join and increase ranks in the house and very satisfying getting as far as I did, and getting my own tower.
lol sorry nostalgia rush. I really do want to play Morrowind again but its hard to go back from Skyrim.

I'm on my way to Windhelm to join up with the Stormcloaks, Ulfric has the right of it!

Re: Re: Great House Telvanni (Club/Faction)
This makes complete sense, especially if we assume the belief that the towers are a type of mushroom or fungus. After all, the fruit of a mushroom you see above ground is only an expression of the vast mycelial networks beneath that connect the individual mushrooms together, often over great distances. The largest organism on Earth is a fungus in eastern Oregon, which apparently occupies several square miles underground. Think what the Telvanni could do with a little arcane coaxing.OblivionDuruza wrote:I know that you were speaking figuratively, but I did read a theory which proposed that the Telvanni Towers were just the observable above ground segment of a much larger fungal construct, much in the same way an iceberg is mostly submerged. For anyone who has visited Tel Mithryn, is the Master Neloth who there resides the same Master Neloth of Tel Naga?

I'm so glad to see that my favorite house is alive and well. I was really worried with the red year and all.

The Houses that stayed closer to Dunmeri principles seemed to fare far better; Hlaalu, who bought their power from the Empire, seemed to pay dearly in the end.
