Having to stop your wife from running headlong into a dragon when she knows she could use fireballs from afar. Other then that, she makes my meals.
it is a mystery

Re: How is your Skyrim married life?
Both of my characters are married to Onmund and he is a doll. I like the fact that I can take him on random adventures and have alone time away from the kids. My only complaint is that he doesn't do enough around the house. He plays with the kids but doesn't discipline them. Instead, he takes them fishing and hunting and leaves my characters with the dirty work. Sometimes he cleans the alchemy room and he does cook in the mornings.
I consider Onmund the trophy husband that looks devilishly handsome all day and gives me money. And let's not forget the daily lover's comfort.

I'm glad the OP is able to act out what his married life would be with pixels on a screen, because you would be one [&@%!] up husband in real life

My wife Rayya doesnt like living out in the wilderness. She complains about Giants, Spiders etc. The kids love it though, so thats good. Rayya shuts up eventually when its time to hit the hay and give 'er the sausage.

How is my Skyrim married life?
Silent since none of my characters has married. I did once go through the ceremony for the lols but then loaded a previous save. I just don't find any appeal to it in Skyrim since the whole "romance" is so shallow and ridiculous. I haven't felt a connection to any of the characters available for marriage and I also hear that every spouse acts the same so... meh.
Pretty much the only character I have considered marrying is Marcurio since unlike my character's previous followers, he has actually been clever enough to survive this long and has been a great help. (Kudos to my mod which makes the game a lot more difficult). However, I didn't go through with it since I was afraid Marcurio would lose his sassyness.

I just wanted my characters to have a boyfriend on the road.
Re: How is your Skyrim married life?
I work away a lot and take my secretary on the road with me. My kids are adopted so I blame their biological parents.

Dohvakiin2012, It does make for some interesting storytelling XD. Hmm, now that I think of it Asul actually might go through with the marriage because I roleplay him as one who acts on whims. He wouldn't even care whether there's a connection or not... and would later probably manage to get his spouse killed and just shrug it off.

Pretty awful.
Aela is probably disturbed/depressed/furious that i'm always gallivanting about with Serana.

I also married Aela. I'm really not sure how she is doing with the kids since I cannot stand her wolf stink. And I'm sure a vampire and werewolf won't do well in the same room. She's a companion so I'm sure she's fine out in Falkreath.

Re: How is your Skyrim married life?
Married life is usually quite sweet. Cosnach and Farkas make rather nice husbands. They cook, they're pretty affectionate and they can crack skulls with the best of them. I am toying with the idea of marrying Marcurio this time, because i like his sassiness. But i might wait and see if the followers in Dragonborn are marriage material.

Since I guess I'm a septigimist, I just like having a house occupied by more than the housecarls and the advantage of an in house merchant. Other than that I just say I sweetie as I'm passing through dropping off the spoils of my travels.

Re: How is your Skyrim married life?
I married once for the achievement, and than never married again. Why would I? I would be the worst husband in the world,
Wife: "Coming home today, dear?"
Me: "Nope, I'm going to kill dragons, hang out with this other chick, become a vampire, build a house without asking you, adopt a kid too, and, just for giggles, I'm going to party it up with Hermaeus Mora. Enjoy cleaning my house. Good bye, see you in two months, love you, and all that I guess."
And I seen how those housecarls look at the wives. Off to the Blades with you!(and considering Delphine is there, that is a punishment)

Aela has needs. So I keep Aela satisfied. I'd say my married life in Skyrim is alive and well.

Re: How is your Skyrim married life?
As part of my roleplay, I try to have Sylmirie and Felina come home within 3 days time. Then they are home for about a week. Although Felina skipped out on her responsibilities for an entire month while she drank ale and took skooma to her heart's delight with Serana. Now, she's really being a better wife and mother. It's really too bad you can't marry Serana. Unless I'm missing something.
Heck, this is UESP after all, I'll ask a dumb question,: Is it possible to marry Serana?

Re: How is your Skyrim married life?
No, it's not possible. But why would you? Marriage ruins everything in a video game. Look at it this way. She does whatever you tell her to. She says, "I think both of our parents failed us. It's just you and me against the world." You can say Serana is important to you. Her parents think she loves you. That's good enough for me. Except I will probably never own Dawnguard. Trolololllll!
@Skyrimplayer, actually, if you look in the Creation Kit, there was a canceled second option if you pick the right dialogue. She feels like she doesn't deserve marriage because she was down, with getting down with a Daedric Lord. She will however say she "likes you. A lot." and will do whatever you tell her to do.

Re: How is your Skyrim married life?
My character just married Farkas yesterday, so I guess she's still getting used to married life and there's not much to say yet. They're spending their honeymoon hunting vampires.

How do you get the topic up anyway... (or does the character have to be a male nord or something?)
Dealing with Serana here.

Re: How is your Skyrim married life?
^^ This is true. She says she could never ask the Gods for such a blessing after all she's done, so she feels that she is not worthy of marriage which is why she won't do it. But it really makes sense and I am glad to see the developers stick players with reality here. Someone like her would never marry. And Br3ad, all the things you listed about her is totally right...she pretty much does love the pc and her parents know it, too. The only thing that made me mad was Harkon's lame comment about the pc being Serana's pet. There was no petting going on there.
