Re: Foxes of Skyrim
I'm playing on my first hunter/archer character and foxes are my daily objective, since deers and elks rarely show up and when they they always get away

Re: Foxes of Skyrim
If I find a fox in the wilderness I usually stalk him until the time it takes him to be mauled by a pack of wolves/sabre cat/bear. I then take there pelts and make them into sets of leather armour, of which I have over 1000 full sets.

Re: Foxes of Skyrim
Sometimes I'll let them go if it's a cool situation I see it in. I'll try to save one if it's being attacked. Sometimes I'll just kill them if I'm in the mood to do so or if I'm trying to raise a skill.
I kill all bunnies though. Sometimes they're too fast.

Meh, a fox is free money. It really encourages the "hunter" roleplay. But I prefer skill shots. I always take a shot at Hawks and Rabbits. Oh and I play HUDless if that matters to you

Re: Foxes of Skyrim
Foxes are awesome, so I let them live.
I had a fox pet in WoW when I still played, and named it Yoko; was a cute little fella. So now when I see a fox in Skyrim, I think back to my Hunter's pet, Yoko!

Re: Foxes of Skyrim
I'm gonna resurrect this topic for a bit. Better than making a new topic.
So I was following a fox wich led me to a cool area with lots of ingredients. Then two wolves kill it. I killed the wolves, grabbed the fox and laid to rest besides a tree and some flowers.
Had to do the same thing 5 minutes later.
Does anyone know if wolves activaly hunt foxes irl?

Wolves are pack hunters, while foxes, as far as I know, are solitary hunter/scavengers. A lone fox is no match for a pack of wolves. Wolves will intelligently weigh the situation and try to bring down anything they think they can succeed against.

Re: Foxes of Skyrim
I never kill foxes.
Even if I have low archery or low level or rping a hunter I go for the deer or wolf.
I tend to follow the foxes too.....sometimes they do lead me to a unmarked camp or area where I end up finding a chest or skill book etc.
But a few times they have led me to Sabre Cats (Which of course the cat auto attacks me) and in snowy regions Frost Trolls.

I always find foxes just standing there on roads, and when I approach them I usually follow them. They're just too cute and innocent to kill! Sometimes I also find dead foxes just randomly on the ground and it really creeps me out.

I don't think it's very smart to attack a level 53 heavy armor tank sporting a dragonbone sword and shield of Solitude....Evil-i wrote:Wolves are pack hunters, while foxes, as far as I know, are solitary hunter/scavengers. Re: Foxes of Skyrim
I don't usually kill foxes, but I will kill them if they get in my way or attack me.
Don't follow them, either. I just ignore the critters. Same with bunnies, though there are those odd moments where I randomly go on a bunny killing spree.
And speaking of kids... I should've had Vulom kill that Skeever her son brought home. Blasted thing keeps creeping me out.

No not high. XD. Foxes just have the tendency to make me follow them to a place with shiny things/ingredients/cave with good loot/etc.

Really? I almost never find foxes on the roads, just goats and the occasional deer/elk. I tend to find foxes well off the beaten track. Just goes to show you how differently the same game can present itself to different gamers.trueguitarist95 wrote:I always find foxes just standing there on roads, and when I approach them I usually follow them. ^^If my Imperial sees a deer, she can't help but go on a hunt. That's why animals are there: for pelts, leather and meat. Just like in rl.

Re: Foxes of Skyrim
My spiritual Bosmer considers the fox his spirit guide, and even my most irreligious characters consider it bad luck to kill one. I must admit I've been tempted to make an Argonian called Follows-the-Fox.
And yeah, they can lead you to interesting places, although given the density of locations in Skyrim, I suppose it's hard to avoid hitting one sooner or later.

Re: Foxes of Skyrim
The goats and deer I spook along the roads are great "alarm systems". They tend to stay on the road when they bolt, and as they run off ahead of me they will often flush out hidden enemies, such as wolves, trolls, bandits and whatnot.Dohvakiin2012 wrote:^^If my Imperial sees a deer, she can't help but go on a hunt.
